  • Publication number: 20240120740
Abstract: The invention relates to wind turbines, particularly to controlling reactive power exchange between a power grid and a wind power plant. The wind power plant has a plurality of wind turbine generators each having a corresponding power converter with a converter controller. Further, the wind power plant has a power plant transformer with an on load tap changer coupled between the wind power plant and the power grid. The power plant controller is regulating the on load tap changer and is generating reactive component setpoints for the wind turbine generators, when determining a need for production of short-term reactive power due to a sudden change in reactive power measured at the point of common coupling.

  • Publication number: 20240069697
Abstract: A system and method for loading a user interface (UI) component of a UI screen on an as needed basis is conducted by examining a list of UI components included in the UI screen to identify a UI component having an associated replacement component, the replacement component imitating an appearance of the UI component but offering fewer functionalities than the UI component. The replacement component is then loaded in place of the UI component, before user interactions with the UI screen are examined to determine when the UI component is likely to be used. Responsive to determining that UI component is likely to be used in the near future, the replacement component is replaced with the UI component in the UI screen.

  • Patent number: 11916679
Abstract: A bitstream modifier is operative on a packet which uses repetition coding. The bitstream modifier increases randomness of the data in a deterministic manner such that spectral spurs from repetition coding are greatly reduced, thereby providing greater available transmit power. In another example of the invention, baseband samples of a header and/or payload for a Bluetooth packet are modified by a canonical sequence with a low slew rate for data such that the variations in frequency may be tracked by a receiver and the transmitted spectral spurs reduced.

  • Patent number: 11899698
Abstract: A computer system is provided, including a processor coupled to a mass storage device that stores instructions, which, upon execution by the processor, cause the processor to store an original string formed of a plurality of characters, perform a wordbreak algorithm on the original string, and tokenize the original string to generate a processed string including a plurality of word tokens separated by spaces. The processor is further configured to generate an offset map between locations within the word tokens in the processed string and corresponding locations in the original string and classify a portion of the processed string as a target. The processor is further configured to identify target characters in the original string that correspond to the target using the offset map and perform a predetermined action on the target characters in the original string.

  • Publication number: 20240004628
Abstract: Techniques are disclosed for recommending particular versions of a software image for installation on a network device. In one example, a cloud-based Wide-Area Network (WAN) assurance system determines, for a first entity, entities having similar entity profiles as an entity profile of the first entity. The system obtains historical information, such as historical performance information, for network devices of the entities having similar entity profiles as the entity profile of the first entity. The system computes, based on the historical information, software image scores for software images used by the network devices. The system outputs, for display, an indication specifying a recommended software image to install on a first network device of the first entity, the recommended software image selected based on the software image scores for the software images used by the network devices.

  • Publication number: 20240007350
Abstract: Techniques are disclosed for identifying sets of network devices to which to deploy a software upgrade based on an importance to the network of each network device. For example, a network system obtains information identifying a number of instances of an application associated with network traffic forwarded by each network device of a plurality of network devices. The instances of the application are executed by client devices serviced by each network device in forwarding the network traffic. The network system assigns each network device to different upgrade groups based on the number of instances of the application, each upgrade group associated with a different relative priority. The network system deploys a software upgrade to each network device according to a priority of the respective upgrade group relative to a priority of the other upgrade groups.

  • Patent number: 11600985
Abstract: A method for operating a wind turbine generator connected to a power network to account for recurring voltage faults on the power network caused by automatic reclosure of at least one circuit breaker following a short-circuit. The method comprises: identifying a deviation of voltage level of the power network from a normal operational voltage level of the network; determining that the identified deviation fulfils criteria for automatic reclosure; and operating the wind turbine generator in a recurring fault mode if automatic reclosure criteria are fulfilled. When operating the wind turbine generator in recurring fault mode, the method comprises: monitoring the recovery of the voltage level from the deviation; categorising the recovery of the voltage as one of at least a strong recovery or a weak recovery; and implementing a ride-through protocol according to the category of recovery.

  • Patent number: 11444459
Abstract: There is provided a method of operating a renewable power plant that is connected to a wider power network by a bus. The method comprises: identifying a predetermined voltage condition of the renewable power plant or of the bus; controlling the renewable power plant to maintain zero reactive power exchange at the bus for a first period; calculating an average voltage level of the bus that was achieved during the first period; and controlling the renewable power plant to maintain the voltage output at a set voltage level for a second period, the set voltage level being substantially equal to the calculated average voltage level. The method ensures that voltage oscillations due to a push-pull phenomenon between a power plant controller and the power network do not upset the stability of the grid.
