Abstract: Techniques and apparatus for authenticating a second device by a first device includes detecting a physical attachment of the second device to the first device. In response to the detection, an indication of one or more capabilities of the second device is received and an authentication procedure with the second device is performed. A determination of whether to allow use of the one or more capabilities of the second device is made based on the authentication procedure. The first device interacts with the second device, in accordance with the determination.

Abstract: Embodiments include systems and methods of serial port enumeration for communication via a multi-subscription multi-standby communication device. A processor of a computing device in communication with the multi-subscription multi-standby communication device may associate each of two or more serial ports of the computing device with a different subscription of the multi-subscription multi-standby communication device. The processor of the computing device may send communications to a subscription of the multi-subscription multi-standby communication device by addressing the communications to the serial port associated with the subscription.
