Abstract: A packaging container includes an expandable plastic body having a front wall and a back wall, and a top, a bottom, and sides. Each side of the body has a gusset portion extending along a length thereof. Each gusset portion has gusset segments and a pair of adjacent gusset segments are joined along a common fold line. Each gusset segment has an inner surface and an outer surface. At least one of the gusset segments has an embossed section. The embossed section has a plurality of mounds protruding from one of the inner and outer surfaces and a plurality of depressions corresponding to the mounds within the other of said inner and outer surfaces. A roll for forming a packaging container, and method, are also disclosed.

A delivery conveyor for conveying spaced-apart groups of flat plastic bags with each group having two or more bags disposed one on top of the other and offset along a leading straight edge thereof which is oriented approximately transverse to a conveying direction of a conveyor. A bag handling mechanism has an orientable bag engaging hand secured to an articulated arm to orient the bag engaging hand in alignment with a top one of the groups of bags to transfer the bag to a handle securing station where the bag handle is welded thereto. After the handle is welded its relationship with respect to other parts of the bag is verified.

Abstract: A heavy duty industrial plastic bag has a main handle at one end of the bag and is provided with an upper corner section that is used to create a spout to pour the contents of the bag therefrom. The invention provides for ease of pouring the contents from the bag through the spout by providing, at the lower portion of the side edge opposite the main handle and the spout corner section, an auxiliary handle or grip section. After the spout in the spout in the corner section has been formed the user can lift the bag via the main handle with one hand and then grasp the auxiliary grip with the other or free hand, thereafter easily tilting the bag to facilitate the pouring of the contents from the bag through the spout.

Abstract: The present multilayer film structure includes an inner layer, an outer layer and at least a core layer between the inner and the outer layers, wherein the core layer comprises ethylene polypropylene co-polymer at 60 to 35% weight percent of the core layer, and at least one of linear low density polyethylene, ultra low density polyethylene and metallocene. The multilayer film structure has a thickness of at least 75 ?m, and the ethylene polypropylene co-polymer is 5 to 20% of the multilayer film structure. The invention also concerns bags made with the multilayer structure.

Abstract: A product bundle plastic film shrink wrapper and method of forming same is described. The shrink wrapper comprises a plastic film having shrink properties and formed from a blend having from about 5% to 10% polybutene-1. The plastic film forms a wrapper for the bundle by being shrunk wrapped about the bundle with a lap seal formed by overlapped film end portions of the film in a section of the wrapper. The polybutene-1 provides for the lap seal to have a shear force sufficient to hold the product bundle together and low peel force to permit separation of the overlapped film portion by sliding fingers of a user's hand in an unsealed gap of the lap seal and sliding the fingers along the lap seal whereby to easily remove the wrapper from the product bundle.
