  • Publication number: 20190011979
Abstract: In a system for dynamic switching and merging of head, gesture and touch input in virtual reality, focus may be set on a first virtual in response to a first input implementing one of a number of different input modes. The first object may then be manipulated in the virtual world in response to a second input implementing another input mode. In response to a third input, focus may be shifted from the first object to a second object if, for example, a priority value of the third input is higher than a priority value of the first input. If the priority value of the third input is less than that of the first input, focus may remain on the first object. In response to certain trigger inputs, a display of virtual objects may be shifted between a far field display and a near field display to accommodate a particular mode of interaction with the virtual objects.

  • Patent number: 10168710
Abstract: A vehicle has a plurality of control apparatuses, a user input, a geographic position component, an object detection apparatus, memory, and a display. A processor is also included and is programmed to receive the destination information, identify a route, and determine the current geographic location of the vehicle. The processor is also programmed to identify an object and object type based on object information received from the object detection apparatus and to determine at least one warning characteristic of the identified object based on at least one of: the object type, a detected proximity of the detected object to the vehicle, the location of the detected object relative to predetermined peripheral areas of the vehicle, the current geographic location of the vehicle, and the route. The processor is also configured to select and display on the display an object warning image based on the at least one warning characteristic.

  • Patent number: 10139993
Abstract: Aspects of the disclosure relate generally to morphing window controls associated with a window on a display of a client computing device. In order to do so, a plurality of window controls may be presented. Each window control is configured to perform an original function to control the window. The computing device is configured to receive a first input associated with a first one of the plurality of window controls. The first input may provide for initiating a function associated with the first window control. In response to the received first input, the original function associated with another window control is converted to an alternate function. The alternate function of the other window control is configured to perform a different task to control the window than the original function of the other window control.

  • Publication number: 20180334173
Abstract: Aspects of the present disclosure relate switching between autonomous and manual driving modes. In order to do so, the vehicle's computer may conduct a series of environmental, system, and driver checks to identify certain conditions. The computer may correct some of these conditions and also provide a driver with a checklist of tasks for completion. Once the tasks have been completed and the conditions are changed, the computer may allow the driver to switch from the manual to the autonomous driving mode. The computer may also make a determination, under certain conditions, that it would be detrimental to the driver's safety or comfort to make a switch from the autonomous driving mode to the manual driving mode.

  • Patent number: 10101803
Abstract: In a system for dynamic switching and merging of head, gesture and touch input in virtual reality, a virtual object may be selected by a user in response to a first input implementing one of a number of different input modes. Once selected, with focus established on the first object by the first input, the first object may be manipulated in the virtual world in response to a second input implementing another of the different input modes. In response to a third input, another object may be selected, and focus may be shifted from the first object to the second object in response to a third input if, for example, a priority value of the third input is higher than a priority value of the first input that established focus on the first object. If the priority value of the third input is less than the priority value of the first input that established focus on the first object, focus may remain on the first object.

  • Publication number: 20180284969
Abstract: Systems and methods are described for generating a virtual environment including at least one three-dimensional virtual object within a user interface provided in a head mounted display device, detecting a first interaction pattern and a second interaction pattern. In response to detecting the second interaction pattern, a modified version of the three-dimensional virtual object at the first virtual feature is generated according to the first interaction pattern and at the second virtual feature according to the second interaction pattern. The modified version of the three-dimensional virtual object is provided in the user interface in the head mounted display device.

  • Patent number: 10032040
Abstract: Content packs are provided for identifying a plurality of authorized web-based resources, wherein a web browser is configured to prevent access to web-based resources not identified by content packs installed in the web browser. Accordingly one or more of content packs are selected and installed in the web browser, and one or more featured resources are identified from a plurality of authorized web-based resources provided by the installed content packs. An account access page provided by the web browser is automatically configured with one or more access links corresponding to the one or more featured resources, with each featured resource providing a web-based entry point to one or more web-based resources made available by the installed one or more content packs.

  • Publication number: 20180107839
Abstract: Systems and methods are described that are configured to obtain tracking data corresponding to a plurality of users accessing a virtual reality environment. The tracking data may include information associated with a plurality of movements performed by a first user in a physical environment. The systems and methods may be configured to modify display data associated with the plurality of movements, in response to determining that the information is private, and provide, in the virtual environment, the modified display data to a second user in the plurality of users, while displaying unmodified display data to the first user.

  • Publication number: 20180108334
Abstract: Methods and apparatus to use predicted actions in VR environments are disclosed. An example method includes predicting a predicted time of a predicted virtual contact of a virtual reality controller with a virtual object, determining, based on at least one parameter of the predicted virtual contact, a characteristic of a virtual output the object would make in response to the virtual contact, and initiating producing the virtual output before the predicted time of the virtual contact of the controller with the virtual object.

  • Publication number: 20180107835
Abstract: Computer-implemented systems and methods are described for configuring a plurality of privacy properties for a plurality of virtual objects associated with a first user and a virtual environment being accessed using a device associated with the first user, triggering for display, in the virtual environment, the plurality of virtual objects to the first user accessing the virtual environment, determining whether at least one virtual object is associated with a privacy setting corresponding to the first user. In response to determining that a second user is attempting to access the one virtual object, a visual modification may be applied to the object based on a privacy setting. The method may also include triggering for display, the visual modification of the at least one virtual object, to the second user while continuing to trigger display of the at least one virtual object without the visual modification to the first user.
