  • Patent number: 4043191
Abstract: A dynamometer for measuring the tension in a pair of spaced, elongated members. The dynamometer includes a spring member having distal ends spaced from a medial portion, and a clamp means by which the distal ends are attachable to the elongated members to cause the elongated members to be moved in a biased manner towards one another. The distal ends of the spring member are therefore sprung apart in proportion to the tension of the elongated members.A sensor means is connected to sense the change in magnitude of the sprung relationship of the distal ends respective to the medial portion of the spring member. A chart drive unit is mounted respective to the dynamometer for recording the cyclic change in the magnitude of the sprung relationship of the distal ends.
