  • Patent number: 7955886
Abstract: A method and apparatus is provided for use in an integrated circuit or printed circuit board for reducing or minimizing interference. An inductance is formed using two or more inductors coupled together and configured such that current flows through the inductors in different directions, thus at least partially canceling magnetic fields. When designing a circuit, the configuration of the inductors, as well as the relative positions of portions of the circuit, can be tweaked to provide optimal interference or noise control.

  • Publication number: 20100021287
Abstract: A turbocharger includes a thin-walled insert installed in the bore of the turbine housing. The insert is generally ring-shaped and is radially resilient. The insert can be made of sheet metal formed into a ring shape, and in some embodiments is a split ring. A piston is axially slidable in the bore for varying the size of the turbine nozzle. The outer surface of the piston slides against the inner surface of the insert, and in preferred embodiments a piston ring that encircles the piston engages the inner surface of the insert to substantially seal the interface between the insert and the piston.

  • Patent number: 7653356
Abstract: A wireless communication device is disclosed wherein isolation buffers couple to respective active circuits or stages of the device to convey test information regarding such active circuits to a test data line from which status information may be collected. The communication device operates in two modes, namely a normal operational mode wherein the isolation buffers effectively short spurious emissions from the active circuits to a ground, and a test mode wherein the isolation buffers may convey test information from a selected active circuit to the test data line. The isolation buffers prevent spurious emissions from escaping the active circuits to which they are coupled and prevent spurious emissions from traveling from active circuit to active circuit over the test data line throughout the wireless device.

  • Patent number: 7086065
Abstract: The disclosure is directed to a new software component, an enterprise application server component such as an enterprise bean, called a “functional bean,” which models a business method, and accords transactional persistence. The functional bean can be developed as a derived object from an enterprise bean class, and can call other beans to execute a transaction. A client initiates a transaction by requesting a container using an EJBObject of an appropriate functional bean type. A Service Manager bean handles an appropriate instance of a functional bean. After the Service Manager creates and returns the requested handle to the client, the client thereafter can access the functional bean directly. In this way, transactional awareness to the client is achieved. In a second embodiment, the Service Manager is implemented as a stateless session bean, and other functional beans are implemented as entity beans.

  • Patent number: 6037015
Abstract: The invention relates to a method for coloring pieces of rock, namely marble, by means of the application of a laser beam (2) in order to color-mark or totally color the piece of rock. According to the invention, the laser beam interacts with the piece of rock (5), to which an appropriate coloring is subsequently applied. Diffusion of the pigment in the piece of rock changes its color in the area affected by the laser. The piece of rock takes on the color as intensely as desired. The invention enables marble of a lower value to be made more valuable and increases the value of other rocks and allows them to be colored. This application is mainly intended for the treatment of ornamental rocks.

  • Patent number: 6024693
Abstract: An improved intra-aortic balloon catheter with a balloon membrane, a tip, and a co-lumen extruded tube having an outer lumen and an inner lumen between the inner and outer surfaces of the co-lumen extruded tube. The portion of the co-lumen extruded tube that defines the inner lumen and which is disposed within the balloon membrane is made from polyimide, a lubricous material, to facilitate guide wire tracking. The polyimide inner tube portion demonstrates good kink resistance and flexural stiffness. In a first alternative embodiment of the invention the co-lumen tube comprises an outer tube with an inner tube embedded in the wall of said outer tube. In a second alternative embodiment of the invention a longitudinal signal pathway is provided.
