  • Patent number: 11353408
Abstract: A process for quantifying the moisture in a blanket of fibers includes the emission of an incident electromagnetic wave towards the blanket, by at least one emitter; the receiving of the electromagnetic wave transmitted through the blanket, by at least one receiver; the identification of a variation of at least one parameter of the transmitted wave relative to the incident wave; the determination of a representative value of moisture in the blanket of fibers, as a function of the variation and of the effective volume of blanket that has actually interacted with the incident wave.

Date of Patent: June 7, 2022
    Assignee: SAINT-GOBAIN ISOVER
Inventors: Frédéric D'Herin Bytner, Marc Roubin, Fiona Soteras, Laure Cossalter, Michel Gaubil

  • Patent number: 10131581
Abstract: A composition based on calcium carbonate includes nanometric boehmite and/or nanometric aluminum trihydroxide. A coating can be obtained from this composition. This composition makes it possible to obtain products having better high-temperature dimensional stability.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: June 25, 2015
Date of Patent: November 20, 2018
    Assignee: SAINT-GOBAIN PLACO

  • Patent number: 6514612
Abstract: The present invention relates to a sizing composition for a glass yarn, consisting of a solution whose solvent content is less than 5% by weight, this solution comprising at least 60% by weight of polymerizable components, at least 60% by weight of these polymerizable components being components with a molecular mass of less than 750 and these polymerizable components comprising at least one mixture capable of polymerizing: of component(s) containing at least one reactive acrylic function and/or at least one reactive methacrylic function, and of component(s) containing at least one reactive primary amine function and/or at least one reactive secondary amine function, at least 20% of the polymerizable components containing at least two reactive functions chosen from acrylic, methacrylic, primary amine and secondary amine functions.

  • Patent number: 6322888
Abstract: A process for producing sized glass yarns, which entails: a) drawing streams of molten glass from orifices located at a bottom of one or more dies, in a form of one or more fans of continuous filaments, b) assembling the filaments into one or more moving supports, wherein a first stable composition having a viscosity of between 0.5 and 250 cP is deposited onto the surface of the continuous filaments, and a second stable composition, supplied separately from the first and having a viscosity of between 0.5 and 300 cP, is deposited onto the surface of the filaments of the yarns, at the earliest during deposition of the first composition and at the latest during collection of the years, the difference in viscosity between the two compositions deposited being less than 150 cP, the mixture of the deposited compositions functioning as a sizing composition and being polymerizable at room temperature.

  • Patent number: 5008092
Abstract: Finely divided homogeneous powders of yttrium-stabilized, essentially quadratic zirconia have a narrow particle size distribution, and are prepared by (a) adjusting the pH of a mixed aqueous solution of zirconyl and yttrium acetates to a value of at least 5, (b) eliminating the solvent from such mixed aqueous solution, and (c) pyrolyzing the solid residue resulting from the step (b).
