  • Publication number: 20240176465
Abstract: Examples of the disclosure relate to providing content from a console device to one or more user devices. In examples of the disclosure a console device can be configured to detect an activation input wherein the activation input includes physical contact with a user interface controlled by the apparatus, for example, the user interface of the console device. The console device can be configured to use wireless communication to query one or more user devices regarding providing content to the one or more user devices, based on the activation input and can be configured to collect one or more responses to the query. Content can then be provided via a wireless communication link to the one or more user devices based on the collected one or more responses.

  • Patent number: 9832648
Abstract: A capability for providing access control for a geo-fenced service (GFS) is presented herein. In general, a GFS is a network-hosted service having associated therewith a spatial region within which the network-hosted service may be accessed. The spatial region of the GFS may be defined based on one or more witnesses co-located at a location of the spatial region within which the GFS may be accessed, which are associated with the GFS in order to support access control for the GFS. The capability for providing access control for the GFS, based on a request by a user device to access the GFS, uses one or more co-located witnesses associated with the GFS to verify the presence of the user device within the spatial region within which the GFS may be accessed before granting access by the user device to the GFS.

  • Patent number: 9764583
Abstract: A method to create a coarse-grained real physical object (RO) from a fine-grained 3D virtual object (VO). The method comprises the steps of selecting (RTVO) the virtual object, e.g. a character, or at least elements thereof (head, chest, arms, legs) in a virtual environment (VE), creating (CRBB) a bounding box for each element wherein the element fits, creating (CRTC) a texture cloud for each bounding box by taking a 360 degree snapshot of the element as delimited by its bounding box, applying (APIS) image stitching technology on the texture cloud for obtaining a distinct texture for each bounding box, printing (PRBB) the bounding boxes with their associated texture, and stitching the bounding boxes together. The printing step may occur on a paper printer whereby a cut-and-glue real physical object (RO) can be obtained, or directly on a 3D printer.

  • Publication number: 20160073264
Abstract: A virtual fence server receives a request to access a service for remote control of a device from user equipment. The virtual fence server authorizes the user equipment to access the service in response to the user equipment being within a virtual fence defined by beacon signals generated by a plurality of beacons. The virtual fence encompasses a plurality of geographically distinct areas.

  • Publication number: 20130300731
Abstract: The present invention relates to a method, a related system and a related processing device for visualizing a user of a virtual environment in the virtual environment. The method of the present invention includes the step of generating a 3-dimensional user depth representation of the user to be visualized, based on at least one generated video stream of the user. In addition a texture of the user is determined based on the at least one generated video stream of the user. A subsequent step is generating a 3-dimensional user visualization by applying said texture onto said user depth representation and parenting said 3-dimensional user visualization onto a 3-dimensional host visualization.

  • Publication number: 20120113110
Abstract: The present invention relates to a method for generating a 3 Dimensional model of a certain object. This method first includes the step of determining an object depth representation of the object and the step of generating a texture of the object. Subsequently, a 3-Dimensional model is generated by applying displacement mapping on said object depth representation of said object and subsequently applying said texture onto said 3-dimensional model of said object generated using said displacement mapping.
