  • Publication number: 20220188731
Abstract: This application discloses a computing system implementing a line balancing tool to generate a structured bill of materials for a wire harness based on a harness design and available fabrication processes. The computing system can decompose the structured bill of materials into tasks and assign the tasks to workstations in a production line configured to manufacture the wire harness. The computing system can determine dependencies between a plurality of the tasks and verify the tasks assigned to the workstation conform to the dependencies between the plurality of the tasks. The dependencies can indicate an order for performance of the operations associated with the tasks. The computing system can identify unassigned tasks capable of assignment to one or more of the workstations and determine which of the workstations the unassigned assembly tasks, if assigned, would conform with the dependencies between the plurality of the assembly tasks.

  • Patent number: 9836043
Abstract: This application discloses a system implementing tools and mechanisms to generate a structured bill of materials for a wire harness described in a harness design, identify variable parameter corresponding to a physical characteristic for a first sub-assembly in the structured bill of materials for the wire harness, and substitute the first sub-assembly in the structured bill of materials for the wire harness with a second sub-assembly based, at least in part, on the variable parameter for the first sub-assembly.

  • Patent number: 9491027
Abstract: A small, portable signal generator provides a unique marker signal modulated with a selectable number of degrees of freedom for insertion into a portion of a broadband communication system (BCS) such as a subscriber installation site that may or may not be connected to the remainder of the BCS. If payload signals are not present or brief interference with payload signals is tolerable, a high level marker signal may be injected with level control upon detection of an egress signal to detect very minor leakage sources and thus increase quality of the qualification of installation or repairs. If payload signals are present, marker signals are held to non-interfering levels and frequencies. Authentication of a signal received through an antenna is expedited and increased in confidence level by synchronization of the marker signal modulation pattern and the signal detector in a receiver.

  • Patent number: 9091712
Abstract: Signal ingress at an installations site forming a part of a broadband communication system is quantitatively evaluated for resistance to signal ingress using a computed ambient broadcast signal level based on a known location and effective radiated power of one or more transmitters. Anomalies due to signal path obstruction and/or multi-path reception are compensated by performing computations for a plurality of broadcast transmitters located in different directions from the installation site.

  • Patent number: 9050504
Abstract: A mesh pocket for a lacrosse stick is disclosed. The mesh pocket is defined by a plurality of strands, which are inter-engaged. A wax is impregnated into at least a portion of at least some of the strands. Additionally, a process for applying a wax to a mesh of a lacrosse stick is disclosed. The process comprises providing a wax-permeable layer having a first and second opposed sides, and positioning the first side in contact with the mesh. The process further comprises providing molten wax to the second opposed side of the wax-permeable layer. The molten wax passes through the wax-permeable layer to the mesh.

  • Publication number: 20100070243
Abstract: Various implementations of the invention provide methods and apparatus for determining an unfolded connector clocking angle corresponding to a folded wire harness. More particularly, various implementations of the invention may be employed to manipulate or “unfold” a three-dimensional wire harness representation into a two-dimensional representation such that the two-dimensional connector clocking angle may be determined. In various implementations of the invention, the wire harness is approximated as an alternating series of straight segments and curved segments. Subsequently, the curved segments are straightened or “unfolded” such that the wire harness may be contained within a single geometric plane. As the curved segments are unfolded, the positioning of the wire harness connectors and the connector clocking angles is transformed. As a result, the connector clocking angles for an unfolded wire harness may be determined.
