  • Patent number: 8944458
Abstract: A walker having four substantially straight elongate members each having upper and lower ends and a spacer assembly for keeping two elongate members at a parallel and spaced apart relationship with respect to each other. The other two elongate members are each mounted to a handle member defining two spaced apart U-shaped assemblies. A removable seat assembly adjustably positioned at predetermined heights so that a user can walk while seated to relieve his body from the weight stress. Optionally, a reinforcement base assembly is used to provide greater structural support for the walker. The walker can include arm rests and an adjustable frame to cooperate with users of different dimensions. The walker can also be collapsed for storage or transportation purposes using hingedly mounted elongate members and a pivoting U-shape base assembly.

  • Patent number: 6086078
Abstract: A rowing machine with a body frame assembly and actuated by a seated user. It includes a stabilizing wheel assembly with the ends of a pivotally mounted axle provided with wheels. A pivotally mounted front wheel assembly is designed for steering the machine and a rotably mounting rear wheel for supporting the bulk of the user's weight as it is transmitted the seat assembly to the frame of the machine and to the rear wheel. The steering mechanism includes a novel steering linkage rod connecting the fork supporting the front wheel and the pivotally mounted axle where the stabilizing wheel assembly is rotably mounted. The approximate distance from the pivoting axis of the front wheel to the point on which one end of the steering linkage is pivotally mounted corresponds to 3 inches. The length of the steering linkage rod is approximately 27 and 5/16 inches.

  • Patent number: 5492349
Abstract: An improved self-propelled wagon of the type having a body including front and rear ends, a front axle pivotally mounted to the front end, a rear axle mounted to the rear end, and a propelling means for transmitting the human force of the user to the rear axle. The improvement comprises a sliding gear assembly that includes a hollow tube having proximal and distal ends, a small spur sprocket freely rotably mounted at the proximal end of the hollow tube and a large spur sprocket means freely rotably mounted at said distal end of the hollow tube. The rotation of the sprockets driving corresponding chains trained thereon and causing the rotation of the rear axle. The sliding gear assembly is adapted such that a user may adjust the sliding gear assembly to selectively intermesh with, and turn, the small spur sprocket or the large spur sprocket. The improvement also comprises a steering assembly having a tube, horizontal rod, vertical rod, a fork and rod.

  • Patent number: 4601482
Abstract: A self-propelled wheeled wagon having cargo and seat sections. The user transmits a reciprocating movement, through a propelling mechanism, to the on of the rear wheel. The steering is achieved by directly moving the pivoting front wheels axle with the user's feet. The front wheels axle is provided with an axle stopper mechanism that prevents the axle from moving beyond a predetermined angle thereby minimizing the probability of injuring the user.
