  • Patent number: 11252783
Abstract: A wireless device (300, 400), e.g., a wireless communication device (e.g., a UE) or a network node (e.g., an eNB) having a Medium Access Control (MAC) layer (410) and a physical (PHY) layer (430) configured to send/resend transmissions is presented herein. The MAC layer (410) sends transmissions to the PHY layer (430) for transmitting, by the PHY layer (430), to a remote wireless device (300, 400). The PHY layer (430) receives the transmission from the MAC layer (410), and attempts to send the transmission. The PHY layer (430) further indicates to the MAC layer (410) whether the attempt to send the transmission, by the PHY layer (430), was successful. Responsive to the indication, the MAC layer (410) determines whether the attempt, by the PHY layer (430), to send the transmission was successful. The MAC layer (410) then selectively indicates to the PHY layer (430) whether to attempt to resend the transmission responsive to the determination.

  • Publication number: 20220030038
Abstract: A method by a network node controls connectivity of UEs by identifying a group of UEs for communication with an application controlling parameters used by the UEs for operation in a vehicle platoon. The method controls connectivity for a UE in the group with a RAN node responsive to characteristics of the other UEs in the group. For each of the UEs the characteristic relates to functional operation of the UE with the application. Another method by an application server identifies the group of UEs, and identifies a characteristic of each of the UEs with the application. A message identifying the group of UEs and their characteristics is communicated to a network node for controlling connectivity for individual UEs in the group with a RAN node responsive to the characteristics of the other UEs in the group.

  • Publication number: 20210376958
Abstract: Embodiments herein relate to a method implemented by a wireless communication device. The wireless communication device transmits data to a radio node of a wireless communication network. The wireless communication device monitors for a positive acknowledgement or a negative acknowledgement of the data from the radio node. The wireless communication device retransmits the data to the radio node when said monitoring indicates reception of a negative acknowledgement of the data. The wireless communication device refrains from retransmitting the data to the radio node when said monitoring indicates reception of a positive acknowledgement of the data. The wireless communication device also refrains from retransmitting the data to the radio node when said monitoring indicates neither reception of a positive acknowledgement of the data nor reception of a negative acknowledgement of the data.

  • Publication number: 20210345363
Abstract: A method is disclosed for operating a user equipment (UE) for device-to-device (D2D) communications. The method includes receiving booking information from another UE. The booking information identifying a resource that the other UE is booking to use for transmission by the other UE and further including priority information. The method further includes selectively transmitting preemption signaling based on whether the received priority information indicates lower priority than local priority information that is associated with a transmission to be scheduled by the UE. The preemption signaling indicates preemption of the UE to use the resource identified by the booking information. The method further includes scheduling the UE to transmit using the resource identified by the booking information.

  • Publication number: 20210315032
Abstract: A user equipment, UE, receives radio resource control, RRC, signaling from a peer UE (14). The RRC signaling indicates radio layer parameters supported by the peer UE (14) or indicates whether radio layer parameters supported by the peer UE (14) are compatible with radio layer parameters required for a connection between the peer UE (14) and the UE. The UE determines whether or not to establish a connection towards the peer UE (14) based on the received RRC signaling.

  • Patent number: 11140588
Abstract: In one aspect of the teachings herein, a radio network node associated with a source cell provides sidelink configuration information to a wireless device to be handed over to a target cell. The information indicates the sidelink synchronization and resource configurations associated with the target cell, and the wireless device performs sidelink communications based on the sidelink synchronization and resource configurations of the target cell. Receiving the sidelink resource and timing information associated with the target cell enables the wireless device to perform sidelink communications using the target-cell resources and timing, even while still being served in a cellular sense from the source cell. Thus, the wireless device may begin or resume sidelink communications using the sidelink timing and resources associated with the target cell, irrespective of whether cellular handover of the wireless device from the source cell to the target cell has completed.
