Abstract: The invention relates to polymers selected from among polypropylene (PP), polycarbonate (PC), acrylonitrile-butadiene-styrene (ABS), polyvinylchloride (PVC) and polyethylene terephthalate (PET), nylon and polystyrene, having antibacterial properties, wherein the antibacterial effect is obtained by adding a zinc salt selected from among: zinc PCA, zinc oxide, zinc hydroxide, zinc pyrrolidone or zinc pyrithione during the process of polymerization of the monomers. The antibacterial polymers are used to prepare products intended to enter into contact with the skin.

Abstract: A method for enabling a user of a communication network to get information about entities is presented. The entities are classified in an entity database according to a plurality of characteristics, and the user is associated with a list of contacts, each contact being associated with a log of communication sessions the contact has been involved in through the communication network. For each communication session the log includes an indication of parties involved in the communication session.

Abstract: A sheet packaging material for producing a sealed package of a pourable food product comprises one base layer, a number of lamination layers covering both sides of the base layer, and a removable portion which, in use, can be detached partly from the rest of the packaging material along at least one arc-shaped cutting line and folded at a folding zone extending between opposite ends of the cutting line to free a pour opening; the removable portion comprises a central area made of whole packaging material and which, in use, remains attached to the rest of the packaging material through a permanent bridge defined by the folding zone, and a peripheral area for cutting interaction, extending around part of the central area, containing the cutting line and including at least one pre-laminated opening formed by a through slot at least in the base layer and covered by one or more of the lamination layers.

Abstract: A method for address resolution in a wireless system, with an originating Satellite Interface Terminal (SIT) and a destination Satellite Interface Terminal (SIT2). An Address Resolution Protocol (ARP) packet of a source is modified when transmitted to a destination and when returned from the destination to the source. The modification involves substituting the SIT1 address for that of the source in the ARP request packet and substituting the SIT2 address for that of the destination in the ARP reply packet, respectively.

Abstract: While setting up a fixed wireless system, each subscriber radiotelephone is configured to a permanent home cell. Subscribers located at the border of a cell may be configured to multiple cells for better coverage. The signal levels at the border subscriber's position are received and the mean values of each determined. These mean values are listed in descending order. If the largest mean value is greater than a predetermined threshold, the subscriber is configured to only the home cell. If the largest mean value is within a predetermined range, the second largest mean value is evaluated to determine if it is within the predetermined range. If so, the subscriber is configured to both serving cells. If the second largest mean value is outside the predetermined range, the subscriber is configured to only the home cell.

This function or role is then sent to the subscriber when an incoming call is received. This way, the subscriber can decide whether to answer the incoming call based upon knowing the role or context associated with the dialed number. The subscriber is also provided with user controlled features which can be invoked by the use of DTMF codes. The subscriber can place a calling party on hold prior to answering the incoming call. In addition, the subscriber can proceed with a call transfer from a wireless telephone to a wired telephone and vice-versa, while the call is still in progress. Another feature allows the subscriber to implement a real-time call screening, while the calling party is leaving a message on voice mail.
