  • Patent number: 4687654
Abstract: A process for preparing porous crystalline alumino-silicates consisting of bringing into contact, in an aqueous environment, sodium silicate with an aluminum derivative at a molar SiO.sub.2 /Al.sub.2 O.sub.3 ratio greater than or equal to 8, in the presence of one or more alkaline hydroxides at a molar Me.sup.+ /SiO.sub.2 ratio greater than 0.6, where Me.sup.+ represents the alkaline metal or metals, and in the presence of a mineralizing agent, operating at a temperature of between 20.degree. and 100.degree. C., and controlling the molar OH.sup.- /SiO.sub.2 ratio of the resultant mixture at a value of 0.01 and 0.8, the resultant mixture being crystallized at said molar OH.sup.- /SiO.sub.2 ratio in a closed environment for a period of between some hours and 40 days at a temperature of between 100.degree. and 200.degree. C.

  • Patent number: 4666692
Abstract: The invention provides a silica-based crystalline material that incorporates titanium into the crystal lattice. A process for preparing this material is also disclosed which is based on the reaction of silica, tetra-alkyl orthotitante and tetrapropyl-ammonium hydroxide.

  • Patent number: 4656016
Abstract: The invention is concerned with particular crystalline silica materials that contain boron in the crystal lattice. These materials are useful as catalysts for many reactions.

  • Patent number: 4431621
Abstract: An improved process is disclosed for producing alumino-silicates having a porous structure, of the zeolite class, the process essentially comprising the step of preparing a homogeneous aqueous mixture containing a source of alumina, a source of silica and alkali metal bases and/or alkaline earth metal bases, the improvement consisting in adding to said mixture at least one substance which contains at least a hydroxyl group in its molecule. The advantages are that the use of nitrogenous organic substances, universally used heretofore for the preparation of certain zeolites, can be dispensed with inasmuch as the alkali metal ion is capable, alone, of displaying the counter-ion function.

  • Patent number: 4410501
Abstract: This invention relates to a porous crystalline synthetic material constituted by silicon and titanium oxides, a method for synthesizing said material, and the use thereof as a catalyst.Said material is given the name titanium silicalite or TS-1, and corresponds to the following formula:xTiO.sub.2.(1-x)SiO.sub.2where x lies between 0.0005 and 0.04, preferably between 0.01 and 0.025.The material is prepared starting from a mixture constituted by a source of silicon oxide and a source of titanium oxide. The reaction takes place in the aqueous phase at a temperature of 130.degree. to 200.degree. C., and the solid product obtained is calcined in air at 550.degree. C.

  • Patent number: 4396783
Abstract: A process for the hydroxylation of aromatic hydrocarbons by hydrogen peroxide, consisting in reacting said compounds in the presence of synthetic zeolites which contain heteroatoms, both replaced and exchanged. The reaction is carried out at a temperature comprised between 80.degree. C. and 120.degree. C. and in the presence of the hydrocarbon only or in the presence of a solvent which permits, at least partially, to admix the aromatic hydrocarbon with the hydrogen peroxide.

  • Patent number: 4254296
Abstract: A process is disclosed for preparing tertiary olefins having a high degree of purity and in good yields starting from tertiary ethers such as methyltert.butyl ether and in which the improvement comprises using an extremely efficient catalyst system which consists of a crystalline silica having a high specific surface area and which has been modified by an oxide of a metallic cation having an at least partially amphoteric character. Such catalyst may be, if appropriate, accompanied by an alumina-modified silica as an adjuvant co-catalyst.
