Patent number: 11989628Abstract: Machine teaching in an embodiment can include receiving a user annotated concept for a given image in given context. The given image can be broken into parts and classified. Relationships can be determined associated with the parts. The created relationships can be stored along with the user annotated concept in a knowledge base. One or more similar images can be annotated using the parts and relationships. A second image associated the given context can be retrieved, decomposed into parts. The parts can be classified. Relationships can be determined associated with the second image's parts. Classifications and relationships associated with the second image's parts can be compared with classifications and relationships associated with the given image's parts. Based on comparing, the second image can be annotated with the user annotated concept for the given image.Type: GrantFiled: March 5, 2021Date of Patent: May 21, 2024Assignee: International Business Machines CorporationInventors: Emilio Ashton Vital Brazil, Rodrigo da Silva Ferreira, Viviane Torres da Silva, Renato Fontoura de Gusmao Cerqueira, Raphael Melo Thiago, Elton Figueiredo de Souza Soares, Leonardo Guerreiro Azevedo, Vinicius Costa Villas Boas Segura, Ana Fucs, Juliana Jansen Ferreira, Joana de Noronha Ribeiro de Almeida, Bruno Felix Carvalho, Dario Sergio Cersosimo, Marco Daniel Melo Ferraz

Publication number: 20220369767Abstract: Footwear articles are fabricated with materials and includes a structure that enable the articles to be non-toxic, natural, biodegradable, and/or environmentally-friendly. The structure of the footwear articles is configured for a user's foot, including aspects which allow for precision rigidity or flexibility within the footwear article. The footwear articles are capable of including cycling footwear articles. The cycling footwear articles are further capable of including aspects which provide enough rigidity to couple to clipless pedal systems on a bicycle, and other aspects which allow for a flexibility when walking. Methods of forming the footwear articles and related packaging systems are provided, which also utilize non-toxic, natural, biodegradable, and/or environmentally-friendly materials.Type: ApplicationFiled: May 13, 2022Publication date: November 24, 2022Inventor: Marco Torres

Publication number: 20220263338Abstract: A power unit powers a Long Range (LoRa) gateway at a communications facility. The power unit has one or more enclosures configured to install on a ground level of the communications facility. The one or more enclosures hold batteries and control circuitry. The batteries are configured to supply backup power. The control circuitry is connected to grid power, alternative power, and the backup power and powers the LoRa gateway with power-over-ethernet (PoE). The control circuity is configured to transition from the grid power to the backup power to power the LoRa gateway in response to an outage of the grid power. The control circuity can also transition to the alternative power, such as generator power or solar-generated power, to power the LoRa gateway. Finally, the control circuitry can charge the batteries using the grid power (if available) or using the alternative power (e.g., solar-generated power or other).Type: ApplicationFiled: February 14, 2022Publication date: August 18, 2022Inventors: Alejandro Quinones, Jose Torres, Marco Torres, Jose Santos

Publication number: 20140027249Abstract: The present invention refers to a belt guide device for use in conveyor belts and, more specifically, to a guide roller device that decreases the need to replace the rollers and prevents the formation of rubber strips by contact between the belt of the conveyor and the roller. Thus, the device of the present invention comprises: the guide roller, a sliding board whereon the guide roller is mounted, a support track that receives the sliding board, and an adjustment mechanism connected to the sliding board to trigger, selectively, the sliding thereof in relation to the support track. The support track is fastened to the structure in a position such that the guide roller is situated closely adjacent to the edge of the belt.Type: ApplicationFiled: July 25, 2013Publication date: January 30, 2014Applicant: VALE S.A.Inventors: Antonio Marcos Torres CRUZ, Bruno Freitas Hortencio, Glausco Santana, José da Paz Correa, JR., Patrick Farias Rissi, Sérgio Gonçalves De Azevedo, Ulisses Chaves Da Silva
