Patent number: 11964675Abstract: A system for safely operating an automated vehicle includes a first network including a sensor set comprising a plurality of sensors configured to detect the surroundings of the vehicle. The sensor set is coupled to a high-performance electronic control unit (ECU) configured to process the signals of the sensors for orientation, control, and collision avoidance. The system further includes a secure motion-control ECU redundantly coupled to at least one drive element via at least two control signals for controlling the vehicle. The high-performance ECU is configured to output an object recognition indicator signal for orientation, control, and collision avoidance to the motion-control ECU. The system also includes a second, hierarchical, redundant network for safely operating the vehicle. The motion-control ECU is designed to securely evaluate the signals of a human/remote-machine interface (HMI/RMI), a ground truth sensing device, and a perception-safety ECU for the recognition of an emergency state.Type: GrantFiled: February 10, 2020Date of Patent: April 23, 2024Assignee: ZF FRIEDRICHSHAFEN AGInventors: Marcus Hiemer, Sascha Heinrichs-Bartscher, Mark Mohr

Publication number: 20240079830Abstract: A shielded electric plug. The electric plug includes a plug housing and a data line arranged within the plug housing for transmitting data in the Gbit/s range. A plug side of the data line electrically contacts the plug with a complementary mating plug and a connection side of the data line for electrically contacting with a circuit carrier. The data line is enclosed by a metal shielding housing. The plug housing includes a connection element with a press-in pin for mechanically contacting the plug with the circuit carrier using a press-in connection. The connection element includes a spring contact element to resiliently abut the circuit carrier so as to contact same when the electric plug is pressed in. The press-in pin is in the form of a first ground connection, and the spring contact element is designed is in the form of a second ground connection.Type: ApplicationFiled: April 29, 2022Publication date: March 7, 2024Inventors: Abdessamad El Ouardi, Marcus Mohr, Raphael Segiet, Richard Gueckel

Publication number: 20230355252Abstract: The present disclosure provides a clamp composed of four distinct components. The ability to deconstruct the provided clamp into four components as compared to a typical two-part clamp may allow for greater ease in cleaning and sterilization. The provided clamp may include a first arm, a second arm, a cannula block, and a rotary cannula. In some instances, the provided clamp may include a locking feature for locking the rotary cannula to, and releasing it from, the cannula block. The present disclosure also provides a clamp including a scale for bone size determination, a clamp including a scale for determining how much compression force is being applied to a bone between the clamp’s jaws, a system including a bushing and a set screw in which the set screw is self-locking, and a drill component system for preparing an opening in bone for a fixation component.Type: ApplicationFiled: July 19, 2023Publication date: November 9, 2023Inventors: Mark B. Sommers, Scott F. Mastroianni, James G. Falkner, JR., Roy Sanders, Dustin Cluff, Steven D. Crawford, Marcus Mohr
