The transport track has fixed first and second guide rails in the area of the passive track switch as well as linear motor strings that are arranged in parallel to the first and second guide rail. The response element of the transport element is engaged within a gap between the first and the second linear motor string.

The or each discharge segment includes a second carriage, each of the two carriages mounted on a guide, and the discharger and the carriages are mechanically connected to one another such that the relative distance of the carriages from one another determines the deflection of the discharger.
