Abstract: A system and method for donning and labeling a body cast provides a protective body cast that is labeled. The system and method provides a protective body cast that forms padded protection around the body of a bedridden patient; and especially around the hip, buttock, and lower extremity pressure points. The body cast is composed of a nanomaterial and serves as an envelope for an inner lining of a softer material such as a composite foam rubber. The body cast is sectioned into a multi-layered enclosing cloth support wrap that is fabricated from a nanomaterial, an inner surface having padding, and at least one auxiliary padding that detachably attaches to the body cast for additional padding. Labels detachably attach to the lower portion of the support wrap for indicating information pertinent to the patient. A caregiver accesses the label to read and mark directly on a bedridden patient.

Abstract: A soft, flexible, low friction human protective enclosure designed to prevent occurrences of skin deterioration by cushioning body prominences for bedridden or wheelchair bound patients and to promote ease of ambulation. A support wrap (10) is made of sturdy, flame-retardant durable low friction fabric material for ease of moving enclosed patient along the surface of bed or chair. An inner filler made of soft and pliable fibrous or rubber-like composite material is enveloped by the support wrap (10). Velcro® latches (30) and (40) and transfer belts (55) at predetermined locations provide means for attachment and adjustment when the support is closed around the body.

Abstract: The device is a soft, flexible human body enclosure designed to aid, comfort, protect and prevent Decubitis (bed sores) and skin breakdowns on bedridden or wheelchair bound patients. The advantage of this device is that it covers major bony prominences, e.g. hips, lower back, buttocks, coccyx area and other pressure points from hips to knees. This device is also intended to promote healing of existing inflammations by holding dressings in place.
