    Abstract: An integrated circuit includes a memory and processing circuitry. The memory stores an Elementary File Test (EFT) file including a record storing information to update a target elementary file (TGF) in a file system of the EFT. The stored information includes a file path identifier identifying a position of the TGF in the file system of the EFT file, which is a concatenation of a parent file identifier followed by an identifier of the TGF, a first length indicator of a first type of data, the data of the first type, a second length indicator to indicate a length of a second type of data, and the data of the second type. The processing circuitry, in operation, identifies the TGF based on the file path identifier and updates the content of the TGF to include the first data and one or more instances of the second data.

    Abstract: A method for managing a plurality of profiles in a SIM module that includes a 2G authentication application, a 3G authentication application, and a file system. The file system includes a file in which is stored an Application Identifier of the 3G authentication application. The SIM module also includes a plurality of profiles, where at least a first profile supports only 2G authentication and at least a second profile supports at least 3G authentication. The method includes that once a given event is detected, the SIM module selects a profile among the plurality of profiles, and if the selected profile supports only 2G authentication, inhibiting access to the Application Identifier of the 3G authentication application in the file, and if the selected profile supports at least 3G authentication, enabling access to the Application Identifier of the 3G authentication application in the file.

    Abstract: A method for writing data in a non volatile memory unit having memory pages includes a predetermined number of memory cells storing a memory word being a predetermined sequence of digital values. An erase operation erases the memory words in the memory page, setting the predetermined sequence of digital values to a sequence of complementary values. A program operation stores in the memory cell a word and sets a sequence of a word to be stored. For the memory cells of the memory page, the memory word is compared with the word to be stored. A positive check is returned if complementary values of the sequence correspond to complementary values of the predetermined sequence. If the check is negative, the erase operation is executed. The memory word is compared with the word to be stored and the program operation is executed if the word to be stored is different.
