  • Patent number: 8001910
Abstract: A hollow core article of gluelam wood or engineered bamboo furniture, such as bench or table, includes a horizontal main panel (1) and a pair of vertical side panels (2) having upper ends respectively connected to opposite ends of the main panel (1) to support it. The main panel (1) includes a main framework (11), an upper plate (12) disposed on ledges (1115) on an upper surface of the mainframe work (11), and a lower plate (13) having edges disposed on ledges (1116) on a lower surface of the main framework (11). Each of the side panels (2) includes a side framework (21), an outer support plate (22) having edges disposed on ledges (2116) and (2115) on an outer surface of the side framework (21), and an inner support plate (23) having edges disposed on ledges (2116) and (2115) on an inner surface of the side framework (21).

  • Patent number: 7960004
Abstract: Glue-laminated bamboo furniture articles include a main panel (1) and plural panel supports (2). The panel (1) includes a main framework (11), a main plate (12) disposed on the main framework (11) and outer framework (13) covering the main framework (11). The main framework (11) is formed by joining corresponding ends of a plurality of frame borders (111). The main plate (12) corresponds in shape to a plane enclosed by the main framework (11) and includes slopes on interfacial edges (121) thereof. The outer framework (13) is formed by joining corresponding ends of sealing plates (131). Sloped upper ends (1311) of the sealing plates match the slopes on the interfacial edges (121) of the main plate (12). The resulting gluelam bamboo furniture has a trim aesthetic appearance, exhibits the beautiful natural texture of bamboo, effectively prevents the furniture from warping, has great durability, conserves materials and effectively reduces production costs.

  • Patent number: 7794508
Abstract: A method for producing colored gluelam bamboo articles includes splitting bamboo stalks into strips and removing the tabasheer and bamboo rind from the strips. The strips are steamed and then dyed under a high-pressure. The dyed bamboo strips are then dried and planed into a finish plane form. The dyed and finished plane strips are then laminated together with an adhesive to form bamboo timber boards or panels of various sizes. The colored gluelam bamboo timber articles produced exhibit a beautiful, natural dyed appearance in which the natural texture of the bamboo is brought forth and fully preserved after the dyeing, and gluelam bamboo timber products produced from the boards or panels will not warp in the presence of high humidity. The method results in low equipment and manufacturing costs and a high production efficiency.

  • Publication number: 20060214493
Abstract: Engineered bamboo furniture having components joined with mortise and tenon joints is made by fabricating the components of engineered bamboo, forming corresponding pairs of complementary mortise and tenon joints on the components, and assembling the parts into a finished article of furniture by bonding the respective tenons of the components in the corresponding mortises of the components with an adhesive. The engineered bamboo material is made by treating elongated flat strips of bamboo with high temperature steaming and drying, carbonizing, dehydrating and starch-removal processes, and then laminating the strips to each other using an adhesive under high pressure to form structural sheets or panels of different types, e.g., face-bonded sheets and/or edge-bonded sheets, which can be laminated to each other to form board-like and plywood-like structures. The mortise and tenon joints on the components may be square, trapezoidal, circular, elliptical, or arcuate trapezoids.
