  • Patent number: 8458947
Abstract: A device for cleaning tubular passageways of a firearm that carries ignition products of a firearm propellant includes a relatively rigid hollow, tubular guide and a compliant cleaning rod within the bore of the hollow guide. The cleaning rod travels within the hollow guide before entering the tubular passageway to be cleaned. The cleaning rod is sufficiently flexible so as to be unable to support its own weight without substantial bending when supported at one end in a cantilever fashion. A cleaning kit is also provided including the cleaning device and a plurality of related cleaning items, such as brush-like cleaning elements.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: January 14, 2011
Date of Patent: June 11, 2013
Assignee: International Processing Company of America
Inventors: Richard C. Iosso, Marianne Ortmann
  • Patent number: 8138511
Abstract: A radiation-emitting semiconductor component has an improved radiation efficiency. The semiconductor component has a multilayer structure with an active layer for generating radiation within the multilayer structure and also a window having a first and a second main surface. The multi-layer structure adjoins the first main surface of the window. At least one recess, such as a trench or a pit, is formed in the window from the second main surface for the purpose of increasing the radiation efficiency. The recess preferably has a trapezoidal cross section tapering toward the first main surface and can be produced for example by sawing into the window.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: December 7, 2006
Date of Patent: March 20, 2012
    Assignee: Osram AG
Inventors: Johannes Baur, Dominik Eisert, Michael Fehrer, Berthold Hahn, Volker Härle, Marianne Ortmann, Uwe Strauss, Johannes Völkl, Ulrich Zehnder
