The upper includes a stiffener, positioned between the inner lining and the outer covering, which is made of a thermoformable material. The upper also includes a comfort element, positioned between the inner lining and the stiffener, which is softer than the stiffener and which is possibly made of thermoformable material. This comfort element includes perforations enabling the thermoforming of the stiffener by propulsion of hot air within the footwear.

Abstract: A liner having an envelope made in a single piece and provided with an opening for the introduction of the foot. The opening is a slit made on one side of the envelope demarcated by a pair of overlapping flaps which are subject to an adjustment device with a lace including a plurality of keepers each attached on the envelope. A tightening strap attached on the side of the envelope opposite the side where the slit freely surrounds the part back of the envelope and is then connected by its free end to the lace of the adjustment device to cooperate therewith.

Abstract: A method for manufacturing a shoe, which includes the steps of:arranging an upper-insole assembly about a last;coupling an intermediate member comprising a toe portion and a heel portion to a lower region of the upper-insole assembly arranged about the last; andarranging the intermediate member in a mold and introducing plastic material into the mold so as to form an injected plastic material member which surrounds the intermediate member and which is integrally connected with both the intermediate member and the upper-insole assembly.

Abstract: The method for obtaining a shoe entails the execution of a nonrigid sock or upper, which is tensioned by means of an adapted last to allow the coupling thereto of an intermediate member on which multiple through holes are formed and which has an optional cavity at the arch region. Then the intermediate member is placed inside a mold and at least one first injection or pouring of preferably but not necessarily compact thermoplastic or thermosetting or expandable material is performed, so as to affect at least the intermediate structural element to obtain a semifinished item below which a sole is associable.

Abstract: A method of manufacturing footwear, including the steps of positioning a sock portion over a mold element in which the sock portion comprises a fabric layer and a thermoplastic film layer connected to the fabric layer, such that the thermoplastic film layer is positioned between the mould element and the fabric layer, and injection-molding a thermoplastic material to the sock portion positioned over the mold element such that heated thermoplastic material flows through the fabric layer and bonds with the thermoplastic film layer and such that the thermoplastic material at least partially covers the fabric layer for forming a portion of an item of footwear.
