  • Patent number: 11833055
Abstract: A stemless implant for shoulder arthroplasty includes a body having a proximal portion, distal portion, and an outer surface. A cylindrical extrusion is substantially perpendicular to and adjacent the proximal portion. At least a portion of the outer surface is configured to contact bone, the outer bone contacting surface comprising a concave taper. The stemless implant can be sized and shaped for insertion into a metaphysis of a humerus bone without penetrating a diaphysis of the humerus bone. The implant optionally comprises a medial fin, a lateral fin, an anterior fin, and a posterior fin. The medial fin and lateral fin may be thicker than the anterior fin. The fins may taper from the proximal portion to the distal portion.

  • Publication number: 20230148085
Abstract: Devices and methods provided for joint arthroscopy contemplate and enable the provision of patient specific instruments (PSI). The devices and anatomical features of a patient are rendered adjustable by the provision of conforming surfaces and support elements to account for and enable repositioning of the anatomical features during surgery. Where the joint arthroscopy involves shoulder arthroplasty, a PSI system includes at least one shoulder PSI operable to be positioned on a bone in a shoulder in the patient. The at least one shoulder PSI allow for the transfer of preoperative planning to intra-operative procedures. The at least one shoulder PSI may be virtually designed as a model based on scan data of the bone in the shoulder of the patient. The at least one shoulder PSI may be fabricated based on the virtually-designed at least one shoulder PSI model.

  • Publication number: 20220265289
Abstract: Devices and methods provided for joint arthroscopy contemplate and enable the provision of patient specific instruments (PSI). The devices and anatomical features of a patient are rendered adjustable by the provision of guide elements and feature to account for and enable repositioning of the anatomical features during surgery. Where the joint arthroscopy involves ankle arthroplasty, a PSI system includes a tibial PSI operable to be coupled to a tibia and a talar PSI operable to be coupled to a talus. Pins pass through the tibial PSI into the tibia and through the talar PSI into the talus. The tibia and talus are aligned based on the tibial PSI, the talar PSI, the pins, and optionally a connection guide operable to receive, or be coupled to, the pins. The tibial PSI and the talar PSI allow for the transfer of pre-operative planning to intra-operative procedures.

  • Patent number: 9597128
Abstract: A method and apparatus of reattaching a bone fragment to a proximal humerus of a humerus in a shoulder joint. The method includes introducing a distal end of the humeral nail into a medullary canal of the humerus. A first proximal screw is engaged with the bone fragment and a first proximal bore in the proximal end of the humeral nail to move the bone fragment toward the proximal humerus. The humeral nail and the attached bone fragment are rotated relative to the medullary canal of the humerus to position the bone fragment to an anatomically optimal location. The bone fragment is preferably one of a greater or lesser tuberosity of the proximal humerus. The method and apparatus can be used to reattach bone fragments in a variety of other joints.

  • Patent number: 6405186
Abstract: An iterative method enabling a request plan to be established for an observation satellite. A plan consists in a succession of requests which are associated with pluralities of opportunities for satisfying said requests. The plan must also comply with a plurality of constraints. Each iteration k of the iterative method is made up of the following steps: new opportunity is selected; a provisional plan is derived from the preceding plan k-1 as calculated in-the preceding iteration, and from the new opportunity; provisional plan is verified for compliance with said plurality of constraints; the quality of said provisional plan is evaluated; and it is determined whether the provisional plan should be confirmed as plan k as a function of the quality of said provisional plan and of the quality of said preceding plan k-1.
