  • Publication number: 20130333068
Abstract: Transgenic seed for crops with enhanced agronomic traits are provided by trait-improving recombinant DNA in the nucleus of cells of the seed where plants grown from such transgenic seed exhibit one or more enhanced traits as compared to a control plant. Of particular interest are transgenic plants that have increased yield. • Patent number: 8594942
Abstract: The present invention is a data query and analysis tool useful for identifying patterns in experimental data. The methods and systems of the current invention provide context for biological data, including metabolic, gene expression and proteomic data, by applying the data to a network representation of biological processes. In doing so, Nodewalker moves beyond the traditional linear pathway view of biology to a network view, and uses the network as a data integration tool to seamlessly merge disparate data streams.

  • Patent number: 8428881
Abstract: Methods for processing hyphenated chromatographic data to delineate components of a sample are disclosed. According to one aspect, the method includes obtaining hyphenated chromatographic data points for a sample, each data point comprising at least three dimensions, one of the dimensions being a continuous dimension, and subjecting at least a portion of the data points to an algorithm that organizes the data points into discrete clusters according to the data points' continuous dimension values by starting at either a smallest or largest value and delineating at a largest gap between adjacent values within a predetermined resolution window, wherein the resulting clusters are of varying width of less than or equal to the width of the resolution window and wherein at least some of the clusters are indicative of components of the sample.

  • Patent number: 8131473
Abstract: The present invention provides data analysis methods for the rapid location of subsets of large, multivariable biological datasets that are of most interest for further analysis, for the investigation of molecular modes of action of biological phenomena of interest, and for the identification of sets of data points that best distinguish between experimental groups in larger datasets as putative biomarkers. While existing methods for analyzing large biological datasets generally provide too much information to the user, or not enough, the methods of the present invention entail taking user input on what kinds of trends are of interest and then finding results that match the designated trend. In such manner, the methods of the invention allow a user to quickly pinpoint the subset of data of most interest without a concomitant loss of a large percentage of relevant information, as is typical with standard methods.

  • Publication number: 20050143931
Abstract: Methods are provided for non-targeted processing of hyphenated chromatographic data, such that even when the data represent a complex mixture of unknown components, a comprehensive number of the components are detected with minimal information loss and introduction of error. Processing hyphenated chromatographic data by the present methods is compatible with use of subsequent algorithms for chromatographic information extraction, and enhances the accuracy of a subsequent peak/component picking program. The present methods comprise subjecting data collected using a hyphenated chromatographic technique like GC-MS or LC-MS, i.e., data having a continuous or non-discrete dimension (e.g., mass), to an algorithm that organizes the data into discrete groups (clusters) of the continuous dimension. Grouping using the present methods results in consecutive clusters of continuous dimensions having varying width less than or equal to that of the instrument resolution window.
