  • Publication number: 20090065544
Abstract: An apparatus which supports a pair of side loads in balanced and fully hand-accessible positions, while a person who is carrying the apparatus is walking in a substantially erect position, and also while the person is in a sitting position.
    Type: Application
    Filed: November 4, 2008

  • Patent number: 6006455
Abstract: A label holder which is formed by an exterior portion having a label holding envelope and an attached disk of metal (such as within a sealed envelope). The label holder is secured to the user's clothing through magnetic forces which are exerted by a magnet placed on the inner surface of the clothing. The metal disk is attracted to the magnet and is held to the clothing without the need of pins or other fasteners which pierce the clothing and can cause damage thereto.

  • Patent number: 5682648
Abstract: An improved mechanism for holding ornaments such as flowers onto clothing. The mechanism uses a cradle to secure the flowers or other ornamentation onto the clothing. In the preferred embodiment, the cradle/holder partially encircles the flower stems and has prongs which are inserted into the stems. The cradle/holder is preferably metallic and is placed on an exterior portion of the clothing while a magnet is placed on an opposing location on an interior portion of the clothing. The magnetic attraction between the holder and the magnet are sufficient to firmly secure the flower arrangement to the clothing without having to damage the clothing by either piercing (e.g. a needle) or pinching (e.g. a clasp) the clothing.
    Type: Grant

  • Patent number: 4061712
Abstract: Vanadium values such as those in the form of vanadium pentoxide may be recovered from vanadium-containing materials by leaching the vanadium-containing material with caustic and thereafter precipitating insoluble salts of vanadium with an ammonium-containing compound followed by separation and recovery. After suitable stripping of the ammonia from the lean leach solution, said solution may be recycled to the leach step. The recovery of the vanadium values is enhanced by effecting the precipitation step in the presence of carbon dioxide which maintains the pH of the solution in the optimum range.
