  • Publication number: 20030233804
Abstract: A joint reinforcement having eye sections is manufactured using an inline process with concurrent assembly of the eye sections. Concurrent assembly of the eye sections provides more efficient manufacturing and the resulting joint reinforcement is less expensive to manufacture then conventional joint reinforcements. The joint reinforcement also can be manufactured to have uniform thickness for more efficient transport.

  • Publication number: 20030070388
Abstract: A reinforcement bar support system transfers forces perpendicular to a wall to a surrounding frame while permitting movement of the wall with respect to the frame in the direction of the plane of the wall and in the vertical direction. A bar is built into the wall. The apparatus includes a brace that is attached to the frame and a face that projects from the brace. Flanges extend outwardly from the face to receive the bar and limit movement of the bar with respect to the frame in the direction perpendicular to the wall.

  • Patent number: 4869038
Abstract: A veener wall anchor system interconnects a backup wall of block construction to a brick veneer wall. The system includes a wire joint reinforcement, embeddable in backup wall mortar joints, preformed with a plurality of thin plates welded thereto. When the joint reinforcement is embedded in the backup wall mortar joint, the plates extend outwardly therefrom. A wall of rigid insulation is placed against an outer face of the backup wall with the plates extending through the insulation. The plate includes an elongated aperture outwardly of the insulation for receiving an spring clip fastener which resiliently engages the insulation wall and contact with the backup wall. A pintle tie includes leg portions received in the plate aperture and a U-shaped portion embeddable in mortar joints of the veneer wall to interconnect the veneer wall with the backup wall.

  • Patent number: 4606163
Abstract: A novel anchor system is provided for connecting backup studs and backup wall systems to veneers such as brick work and the like. The novel anchor system includes an elongated anchor channel for affixation to a backup stud. This arrangement stiffens the combined stud and channel against bending. An anchor tie, connected to the channel, extends for connection to the veneer. When assembled, the stud, the elongate channel, the anchor tie, and the veneer together have a resistance to wind loads and bending which exceeds the sum of the parts.

  • Patent number: 4596102
Abstract: An anchor for tying between a sequentially layered veneer and a backup system. The anchor comprises a channel with a slotted web for accepting an anchoring means and apertured flanges pivotally receiving a formed wire tie. The anchor is adjustable translationally and pivotally as a unit. By locating the apertures in the flanges off center of the length of the elongate slot, pivoting of the channel 180.degree. expands the vertical adjusting capability of the tie which is captured fixedly between successive layers.
