  • Patent number: 9667660
Abstract: A network access credential can be shared among devices based on location information for a device. Location information can include timed fingerprint location information. In an aspect, location information can be associated with a location of user equipment. This location information can be correlated with network access credentials. Location information can be used to access a relevant network access credential. The relevant network access credential can be shared with other devices. In an embodiment, sharing a network access credential can be between mobile devices. In another embodiment, sharing a network access credential can be between a remote computing device and a mobile device. • Patent number: 9563784
Abstract: Event driven permissive sharing of information is disclosed. In an aspect, user equipment can include information sharing profiles that can facilitate sharing information with other devices or users, such as sharing location information. The information sharing profiles can include trigger values, such that when a target value transitions the trigger value, a permission value is updated to restrict or allow access to sharable information. As such, event driven permissive sharing of information allows for designation of temporary friend information sharing with user-defined triggers.

  • Patent number: 9519043
Abstract: Systems and techniques for determining the accuracy of network based user equipment (UE) locating methods and results thereof are disclosed. Periodic direct measurements of location error for a network based location result are determined by the difference in the network based location result and an assisted global positioning system (AGPS) location result. The location error is associated with a cell-pair contributing to data employed to determine the network based location result. The error associated with the cell-pair is then applied as a measure of accuracy in future network based location results that also employ data associated with the cell-pair to determine the future network based location result.

  • Publication number: 20160352638
Abstract: Concepts and technologies are described herein for managing network load using device application programs. An illustrative method includes receiving, at a mobile device, a list of preferred combinations of location area codes (“LACs”), cell identifiers (“CIDs”), and times that data access by the mobile device is to be incentivized, determining a current LAC associated with a location area within which the mobile device is currently located, determining a current CID associated with a base transceiver station to which the mobile device is currently connected, determining a current time, and determining if the current LAC, the current cell ID, and the current time are included as a preferred combination in the list. The method also includes providing an indication that data access by the mobile device is incentivized if the current LAC, the current cell ID, and the current time are included in the list as a preferred combination.

  • Patent number: 9485618
Abstract: Concepts and technologies are described herein for the classification of indoor and outdoor telecommunications events that occur within mobile telecommunications networks. According to one aspect disclosed herein, a method for classifying telecommunications events can include receiving a data set that includes geo-location data and radio signal measurement data for a plurality of telecommunications events that have occurred within a mobile telecommunications network. The method can also include providing the data set as input to a classification model. The method can also include classifying the data set into an indoor results subset and an outdoor results subset using the classification model. The indoor results subset can include a first telecommunications event that is determined by the classification model to have occurred in an indoor location. The outdoor results subset can include a second telecommunications event that is determined by the classification model to have occurred in an outdoor location.

  • Publication number: 20160309441
Abstract: Downlink signal strength measurements from base stations (BSs) are reported by mobile devices to facilitate mobile device locating. A system receives the signal strength information and determines whether the mobile device is within a selected distance from any of the BSs in response to detecting that signal strength information for one of the BSs is greater than a predefined value. The system determines an area over which to search for the mobile device if the system fails to detect that the signal strength information for any of the BSs is greater than the predefined value. The area over which the search is performed is an intersection of all regions determined by the signal strengths of the BSs.

  • Patent number: 9473889
Abstract: A method, computer-readable storage device, and an apparatus for determining a probability for a particular geo-fence in a wireless network are disclosed. For example, the method receives a mobile identification, a location record, and an accuracy level, identifies a bin in a database of record, identifies one or more geo-fences in which the bin is located, identifies one or more geo-fences that are pre-associated with the mobile user endpoint device, determines an intersection of: the one or more geo-fences that are identified as being pre-associated with the user endpoint device, and the one or more geo-fences that are identified as being geo-fences in which the bin is located, and determines for each particular geo-fence in the intersection, the probability of being in the particular geo-fence, wherein the probability of being in the particular geo-fence is determined in accordance with the accuracy level associated with the location record.
