    Abstract: A suspension type brace designed to be worn on and surround a portion of the human body in the region of the lower back. The brace assembly comprises two spaced apart lateral support assemblies each incorporating specifically configured brace structures having sufficient rigidity to restrict lateral bending of the torso and lateral flexion-extension and rotation of the lumbosacral portion of the spine while allowing forward bending of the torso.
