  • Patent number: 7195359
Abstract: A light fixture includes an adjustable shutter to illuminate a desired area. The fixture resides substantially behind a room surface (e.g., a ceiling) and includes a fixed portion residing on and behind the surface, and a movable portion which is extendable from the surface for adjustment of the shutter. A tilting member rotates in a rotating member to allow two axis of adjustment. A light bulb mounts in the tilting member, and light from the bulb is reflected by a mirror or prism to provide a compact fixture. A four part shutter is imposed between the bulb and the mirror or prism to adjust the shape and area which is illuminated.

  • Patent number: 6184469
Abstract: A folded insulated ribbon conductor having a pair of joined twice folded conductors. The folded insulated ribbon conductor has an outer layer of a thin flexible length of insulative material. A thin flexible conductive ribbon is adhered to one side of the insulator. A first one hundred eighty degree fold is formed along one edge where the conductor and the insulator are folded toward the center of the length. A second one hundred eighty degree fold is formed along the other edge of the conductor. Conductive jacks may be connected to this conductor by unfolding the first fold and inserting a jack through the ribbon and the conductor near the first fold and then refolding the first fold to provide two points of contact for the jack. The pair of folded conductors may be joined by insulative disks which also support the conductive jacks.

  • Patent number: 5369721
Abstract: A fiber optic bundle assembly with removable and replaceable light guides. The assembly includes a focused light source and a plurality of light guides held in a light bundle support member. Each receiving end of each light guide is formed in a hexagonal shape with each of the receiving ends being of the same size so that a bundle of receiving ends may be assembled with essentially no air space between adjacent light guides. One or more light guides may be removed and replaced with a hexagonal plug of the same size as the receiving ends.

  • Patent number: 5057978
Abstract: A showcase lighting fixture employs a lighting strip of parallel connected, low-voltage halogen lamps within a modular tubular fixture. The fixture is engaged by socket members which can be affixed to the interior surfaces of a showcase and powered by separate conductors connected to a transformer. In one embodiment, the conductors are rods capable of supporting the fixture. Spring clips in the socket members engage terminal posts in the fixture to secure the fixture and power the lamps. A limited rotation of the fixture relative to the socket members permits direction of the illumination.

  • Patent number: 4934956
Abstract: A strip lighting assembly utilizes a film covered pair of copper foil strips to which one or more sockets have been connected. The assembly is produced by placing foil strips on one side of a wide insulating film, placing strips of the same insulating film material over the foil partially covering same, installing lamp sockets from the opposite side through the film and exposed foil and finally, overlapping the film edges to cover the exposed foil. The disclosure covers both the product and the method employed to produce it.

  • Patent number: 4623956
Abstract: A recessed adjustable lighting fixture for general purpose illumination. The fixture has a base member which may be held against a wall or ceiling, and the major components of the fixture are recessed behind the base member. The lamp is held behind the base by a tiltable platform which is moved by turning a worm gear which cooperates with a curved strap to permit adjustment of the tilt of the lamp assembly.

  • Patent number: 4530036
Abstract: An object illuminating apparatus for the display of art objects and the like. The apparatus directs a remote light source through a common grouping of optical fibers, and the like, to the proximity of the object being displayed. The initial grouping of fibers is further divided into smaller separate light directing arrays which are held within clear acrylic plastic tubes. Such tubes are heated and then selectively directed at various angles to cover the various surfaces of the object being displayed.

  • Patent number: 4463924
Abstract: A lockable picture hanging and straightening device for securing a picture to a wall. The device has a channel member which passes into and is locked into a rectangular member. A reel is attached to the rectangular member and a line acting as an adjustable length linkage is affixed from a convenient corner of the painting to the reel, and the reel is tightened to an extent that the picture is level. The point of attachment of the line to the picture must be on the side of the picture which is too low.
