  • Patent number: 4459992
Abstract: A rugged, relatively low cost, reliable warning device wearable on a person's body, preferably in the form of a bracelet or wristwatch. This device novelly utilizes the principal of natural sympathetic vibration or harmonic response of a fine metal reed, such as a finely drawn tungsten wire, to effect closing of an electrical circuit which hereby emits an appropriate warning signal or combination of signals. The device further embodies adjustable frequency of response calibration selection in combination with the selective electrical circuit features to promptly detect an excessive heartbeat or pulse rate. The signal emitted may be of audio, visual or sensory form or a combination thereof to warn the user against over exertion, stressful situations.

  • Patent number: 4450400
Abstract: A system for replacing electrical batteries in electrically powered vehicles in a minimum period of time on the order of one minute or less. Carriage-elevator structure is arranged in front of a battery charging station to transfer selected batteries between the charging station and a parked stationary vehicle. The vehicle and the charging station are provided with roller support units adapted to bear the battery weight and permit manual push-and/or pull shift of individual batteries to or from the aforementioned elevator. The system enables a substantially discharged battery to be removed from a vehicle and replaced with a fully charged battery in a very short time, e.g. about one minute.

  • Patent number: 4397422
Abstract: Apparatus for mixing and spraying colorants, such as paints or dyes. The apparatus comprises means for directing pressurized air through a venturi. Individual tubes or lines extend from individual colorant containers to the throat of the venturi, whereby the fast-moving air entrains the colorants into the air stream; the air colorant mixture is fed through a spray gun and onto the work to be colored. Metering valves in the individual colorant lines control the relative amounts of specific colorants admitted to the venturi throat, and hence the final color of the mixture discharged from the gun onto the work.
