Abstract: Applicators for applying products to a surface are described. Typically, the surfaces are keratinous surfaces and the applicators are capable of holding a charge of cosmetic composition in on some of its surfaces while also capable of repelling that cosmetic composition on other surfaces. With such dual capabilities, the cosmetic applicators are able to provide enhanced functionality to the applicator.

Abstract: An apparatus is provided for providing nail or skin treatment. The apparatus includes a container, formed of a compressible material; an insert, disposed within the container formed of a compressible material, and configured to receive and surround at least one body part of the user; and an opening at a first end of the container which provides access to an interior surface of the insert, wherein the insert is configured to hold at least one substance configured to treat at least one of a nail and skin of the user.

Abstract: An ergonomic applicator is provided for applying a cosmetic composition to the eyelashes. The applicator comprises a handle portion and a head portion wherein the longitudinal axis of the head portion is positioned or can be rotatably positioned with respect to the longitudinal axis of the handle. The handle being suitable dimensioned for holding between the thumb and fingers without rotation of the handle. The head portion having at its distal end means for holding a charge of cosmetic composition and transferring it to the eyelashes on contact therewith, such as but not limited to bristles.

Abstract: Formula applicators suitable for use in the cosmetics industry, among others. Several disclosed applicators are ergonomically designed to work with the contours of the face. Several are provided with one or more surfaces that are ergonomically and anatomically designed to provide, for example, precise control of the application of a formula to the face, and in particular, under and around the eyes. The applicators include, for example, a flexible free end portion that applies the formula to the face. Some applicators are configured to apply a film-like formula, including formulas having compositions that comprise at least one thermoplastic elastomer, at least one adhesive polymer, and at least one filler.

Abstract: Packages are provided including an applicator that engages with a wiper of a container in a manner such that the applicator and wiper are capable of rotating together in relation to the container. The package also includes a cap configured to fit over the applicator when the applicator is engaged with the wiper element. The cap is engaged with the wiper such that the wiper is caused to rotate when the cap is rotated, screwed onto, and/or unscrewed from, the container, thereby moving the applicator element in a rotational motion in the interior of the container.
