A capsule recognition device with an optical sensor for detecting optical characteristics of the capsule is further present. The brewing module has a mechanically driveable blowing device that is arranged to produce an airflow at the side of the window element towards the portion capsule. The blowing device is assembled such that it is driven by a relative movement of elements of the brewing module which is produced by the drive or the transmission mechanism.

The housing has the capsule insertion opening, through which the portion capsule can be inserted into the capsule detection module, and the closing element is part of the closing unit. The closing element can be manually moved between an open position, in which the capsule insertion opening is accessible, and a closed position, in which the closing element closes the capsule insertion opening. The beverage-making machine has a capsule detection module which is designed to detect a capsule, which is introduced through the capsule insertion opening and which is located at a capsule detection position, using defined features. The beverage-making machine is designed to automatically trigger the capsule detection process after the closing element has assumed the closed position.

Abstract: In order to provide an electrical household appliance, in particular comprising an electronic control device for different control functions by activation of respective switching elements, as well as comprising an acoustic signal generator, wherein different acoustic signals being pleasant for the user can be generated, it is proposed that the signal generator is an electronic sound generator, by means of which sounds with different sound frequencies and/or amplitudes can be generated.

Abstract: In order to provide an electrical household appliance comprising control elements for the selection and/or activation of a control function as well as preferably comprising a display for indicating functions selected, to be selected and/or activated, which permits a simple and safe operation of the device by the user even where space is limited, it is proposed that the control elements are part of a handling unit to be fixed detachably at the device, the handling unit being connected in a communicating fashion by wires or preferably wireless with an electrical or electronic control unit remaining at the device and forming a structural unit therewith.
