  • Publication number: 20070004519
Abstract: A system for interacting with players of video gaming machines is described. The system includes a video gaming machine, a database for storing player information and player interaction rules for a plurality of players, and a server. The server is coupled to the video gaming machine and the database. The server is programmed to monitor the video gaming machine including identifying a player utilizing the video gaming machine and recording activities of the identified player on the video gaming machine. The server is also programmed to determine whether a player interaction rule is satisfied based on the identification of the player and the recorded activities of the identified player, and display an award offer on the video gaming machine for inducing the identified player to continue playing when a player interaction rule is satisfied.

  • Patent number: 6347306
Abstract: A computer-implemented method and system for automatically paying employees net pay immediately upon completion of a work segment provides time and attendance, human resource, payroll processing and banking computer systems interconnected via an on-line computer network to calculate net pay for each work segment completed the employee, in real-time and immediately upon entry of shift completion information. The system determines gross work segment pay based on the shift completion information and the employee's payment rate for the shift and then computes net work segment pay by applying deduction information to the gross work segment pay. The net work segment pay information is then sent to the banking computer system to allow the bank to provide the employee with immediate access to the net work segment pay; preferably via direct deposit banking.

  • Patent number: 6330594
Abstract: A computer-based system and method for enabling remote access to and control of a data acquisition system via a computer network having a multi-tiered network computing platform. The system includes a data acquisition system with a plurality of data acquisition devices; a database server; an application server; a data acquisition server; and two or more client terminals. The multi-tiered network computing platform is provided for the servers and includes a client tier, an application tier and a database tier. One or more client cartridges, application cartridges and data cartridges are provided on the servers and client terminals and are adapted to interface with each of the respective tiers of the network computing platform. The cartridges can communicate with one another over a common communications bus such that the client terminals can remotely access, control and manipulate data from the data acquisition system from any client location connected to the computer network.
