  • Patent number: 9706709
Abstract: A harvester having a harvesting structure for harvesting crop and a crop receptacle for receiving harvested crop. The harvester comprises a crop conveying fan configured to operate at a fan speed to facilitate transfer of harvested crop from the harvesting structure to the crop receptacle. A control system for controlling the fan speed based on crop mass flow comprises a crop mass flow feedback device that provides a crop mass flow feedback signal indicative of crop mass flow. A controller is in communication with the crop mass flow feedback device and is configured to automatically lower the fan speed when the crop mass flow feedback signal indicates a lower crop mass flow and automatically raise the fan speed when the crop mass flow feedback signal indicates a higher crop mass flow.

  • Patent number: 9681605
Abstract: A harvester having a harvesting structure, an accumulator, and a module builder having a throat. A plurality of meter rollers are positioned to receive crop and transfer crop at a feed rate in cooperation with a beater roller. A feeder belt receives crop from the meter rollers and the beater roller and transfers the crop to the throat. A feed rate control system comprises at least one crop mass flow feedback device providing a crop mass flow feedback signal indicative of crop mass flow. A controller is provided that is in communication with the at least one crop mass flow feedback device and configured to operate in a first mode by lowering the feed rate when the crop mass flow feedback signal indicates a threshold has been reached and by raising the feed rate when the crop mass flow feedback signal indicates the threshold has not been reached.

  • Publication number: 20170112054
Abstract: A control system for controlling a pitch of a plurality of fan blades of a variable pitch fan driven by an engine of a harvester. The control system comprises first, second, and third feedback devices that provide first, second, and third feedback signals indicative of at least one harvester temperature, an ambient temperature, and an engine load. A controller is operable to receive the first, second, and third feedback signals, lookup an initial pitch setting, generate an initial pitch setting signal, and compare the harvester temperature to a harvester temperature limit and generate a fan reversal signal if certain conditions are met.

  • Patent number: 5806541
Abstract: An automatic dishwashing machine includes enhanced drying and draining cycles. Toward the end of the rinse and hold cycle when the water is draining, a second quantity of water is added to the machine resulting in a purging action which reduces the concentration of soil in the wash pump. During the normal wash cycle, if the dishwashing machine determines that the water is sufficiently dirty, a second drain is initiated to remove any dirty water that is present in the bottom of the pump after the first drain. During the dry cycle, the machine senses the temperature of the water and the presence of a rinse aid to select an appropriate dry cycle. The possible dry cycles include a delayed dry cycle and a pulsed dry cycle.

  • Patent number: 5768729
Abstract: A method and apparatus of adaptively filling a washing machine uses a water level signal from an analog pressure sensor to determine the appropriate fill level of the machine. A fuzzy logic knowledge base uses various inputs which are scaled and added together to create an output value. The inputs to the fuzzy logic knowledge base include the current pre-defined level, the Ross input, the last rate difference value, and the peak rate level. The present invention may also be used to determine the fabric type of the clothing in the washing machine.

  • Patent number: 5698826
Abstract: An appliance control panel having selective backlighting includes a selection area that is normally visible to the operator including an "OPTIONS" switch. By pressing the "OPTIONS" switch, a plurality of lamps are illuminated. The light from the lamps passes through an assembly of overlays and illuminates a set of optional switches that are not normally visible. The incandescent lamps are positioned partially within a clear plastic mounting plate with a lamp on each side of the optional switches. The clear mounting plate is masked on both sides except for areas on the plate that form depressions around each optional switch. The light is trapped between the masks and escapes through the overlay assembly, illuminating the optional switches.
