  • Publication number: 20240152946
Abstract: In a general aspect, a cloud-based control platform remotely controls variable settings on a remotely-controlled system. In some aspects, the platform maintains a database of data objects for assets, and the data objects include static and dynamic hyperparameters associated with the asset and a template that specifies values of a variable associated with the asset for future time points. The platform updates a template for a data object by calculating target values for the variable for the future time points based on a target criterion, communicating with remote computer systems to determine current values of the dynamic hyperparameters, calculating scaled values for the future time points by applying a determined ratio to the target values, adjusting the scaled values based on the static hyperparameters, applying an override value to the adjusted scaled values. The remotely-controlled system is updated according to the updated template at each of the future time points.

  • Patent number: 7881282
Abstract: A method is provided managing a call using a digital communication device, where the device provides an interface between a public broadband network and a public circuit switched network. In one example, the method includes receiving a request at the device from either the broadband or circuit switched network to establish the call and identifying a destination for the call. A path from the requesting network to the destination is determined, where the determination identifies whether the path will use one or both of the broadband and circuit switched networks. The call is routed via the path, and the device identifies the destination, determines the path, and routes the call without using any resources associated with the circuit switched network if the path does not include the circuit switched network.

  • Patent number: 6816482
Abstract: A system and method is provided for interfacing a broadband network and a circuit switched network, such as a PSTN, that is accessed via a switch that resides in the circuit switched network. The system includes a device, such as a gateway, that is located at a point of convergence between the two networks and connects to the circuit switched network through the switch. The gateway incorporates call management capabilities and is able to offload call management functions from the circuit switched network. The method manages call traffic by identifying a final destination for a call and determining a path for the call to the final destination. If the path does not need to use the circuit switched network, the gateway routes the call without accessing the switch.

  • Publication number: 20020133976
Abstract: An orthopedic athletic shoe with an improved energy return apparatus is provided in that provides artificial or enhanced lift and foot support while engaging in a physical activity. An otherwise conventional shoe upper is separated from an otherwise conventional shoe sole. Both the upper and the sole are then affixed to an upper attachment plate and a lower attachment plate, respectively. The attachment plates are connected along their periphery by a bellows hinge. Between the attachment plates are a series of foot springs that provide a spring urging force. A plurality of smaller forefoot springs are located near the toe. A pair of laterally aligned medial forefoot springs are located next. Three arch springs are linearly aligned along the center of the plates, and a single, large heel spring is located at the rearmost portion.
