Patent number: 11979992Abstract: An electronic medical device is disclosed here. An exemplary embodiment of the medical device includes a printed circuit board assembly, a protective inner shell surrounding at least a portion of the printed circuit board assembly, and an outer shell surrounding at least a portion of the protective inner shell. The printed circuit board assembly has a printed circuit board, electronic components mounted to the printed circuit board, a battery mounted to the printed circuit board, and an interface compatible with a physiological characteristic sensor component. The protective inner shell is formed by overmolding the printed circuit board assembly with a first material having low pressure and low temperature molding properties. The outer shell is formed by overmolding the protective inner shell with a second material that is different than the first material.Type: GrantFiled: August 24, 2021Date of Patent: May 7, 2024Assignee: Medtronic MiniMed, Inc.Inventors: Claire F. Patent number: 11200361Abstract: A method, system and computer program product for appending abstractions to a testbench used for verifying the design of an electronic circuit. According to an embodiment of the invention, a method comprises identifying a set L of one or more support properties l for a set P of one or more properties p for a given electronic circuit; computing a plurality of hardware signals s of the given electronic circuit; and creating a plurality of abstract signals ABS, including declaring a fresh abstract signal abs_s for each of the hardware signals s, and creating a fresh abstract signal abs_l for each of the support properties l of the set L; for each of the properties p of the set P, creating an abstract property version abs_p; and appending the abstract signals ABS and the abstract property abs_p to the testbench to form an appended testbench.Type: GrantFiled: September 3, 2020Date of Patent: December 14, 2021Assignee: International Business Machines CorporationInventors: Bradley Donald Bingham, Viresh Paruthi, Steven Mark German

Method and Apparatus for Manufacturing, Filling and Packaging Medical Devices and Medical Containers
Publication number: 20170281876Abstract: Medical devices such as medical containers can be formed of glass and annealed which produces a clean device having a low bio-burden, or formed by plastic molding which produces a clean device. The clean devices are immediately transferred to a controlled environment such as a clean room or localized area to avoid the need to maintain cleanliness levels in an entire room. Syringe tip closures can be introduced into the housing assembly, where syringe barrels and tip closures are cleaned with filtered ionized air and the tip closures are coupled to the barrels. The syringe barrels can be filled with a substance and a closure member attached. While still in the housing assembly the syringe barrels can be formed into an array and placed in a clean outer container, which is then closed and sealed.Type: ApplicationFiled: June 20, 2017Publication date: October 5, 2017Inventors: Robert B. Odell, Donald L. Porfano, James C. Kropatsch, Jorge J. Campos, Mario de Aguero Servin, Patrick G. Carre, Mark A. German -
Publication number: 20080209871Abstract: A high performance automotive air filter is produced by injection molding a base piece and a cap piece, applying a layer of adhesive to the base and cap pieces, placing the base and cap pieces on the bottom and top edges of the air filter medium, and curing the adhesive layers to adhere the base and cap to the filter media.Type: ApplicationFiled: December 19, 2007Publication date: September 4, 2008Inventor: Mark German

Publication number: 20080048429Abstract: Protective covers for cab guards or racks which extend vertically from the front rail of a truck bed behind the rear window of the truck cab are disclosed. The protective covers may be molded to fit any shape or size of truck bed rack. In one embodiment, the protective cover includes a generally horizontal top section which extends to two generally vertical side sections. Additional sections are typically provided between the side sections to provide a barrier that protects the rear window of the truck cab. When the protective cover is installed, it covers most of the surfaces of the truck bed rack, except the forward-facing surface of the rack located adjacent to the truck cab. Thus, the protective cover provides protection to essentially all exposed surfaces of the truck bed rack, while allowing easy installation.Type: ApplicationFiled: August 28, 2007Publication date: February 28, 2008Inventor: Mark German

Method and apparatus for manufacturing, filling and packaging medical devices and medical containers
Patent number: 6263641Abstract: Clean syringe barrels from forming device immediately transferred to a controlled environment to maintain a clean work area. The work area can be a clean room or localized area to avoid the need to maintain cleanliness levels in an entire room. A localized area uses a housing assembly having a HEPA filter coupled to an air inlet to filter the air entering the housing. An air blower is coupled to the air inlet to feed filtered air into the housing assembly and to maintain a positive air pressure in the housing assembly to prevent unfiltered outside air from entering. Syringe tip closures can be introduced into the housing assembly, where syringe barrels and tip closures are cleaned with filtered ionized air and the tip closures are coupled to the barrels. A thin coating of lubricant is applied to the inner surfaces of the syringe barrels. The syringe barrels or medical container can be filled with a substance and a closure member is attached.Type: GrantFiled: October 3, 2000Date of Patent: July 24, 2001Assignee: Becton, Dickinson and CompanyInventors: Robert B. Patent number: 6250052Abstract: A housing assembly is provided to define a locally controlled environment to maintain a localized clean work area without the need to maintain cleanliness levels in an entire room as in conventional clean rooms. The housing assembly includes a HEPA filter coupled to an air inlet to filter all of the air entering the housing. An air blower is coupled to the air inlet to feed filtered air into the housing assembly and to maintain a positive air pressure in the housing assembly to prevent unfiltered outside air from entering. Prefillable medical containers, such as syringe barrels and syringe tip closures, are introduced into the housing assembly where the syringe barrels and tip closures are cleaned with filtered ionized air and the tip closures are coupled to the barrels. A thin coating of a lubricant is applied to the inner surface of each of the syringe barrels. The syringe barrels can be filled with a substance.Type: GrantFiled: October 3, 2000Date of Patent: June 26, 2001Assignee: Becton, Dickinson and CompanyInventors: Donald J. Porfano, James C. Method and apparatus for manufacturing, filling and packaging medical devices and medical containers
Patent number: 6189292Abstract: Glass medical devices such as medical containers are manufactured and annealed by heating in an oven which produces a clean device having a low bio-burden. Plastic medical devices and medical containers are formed by plastic molding devices which produce a clean device. The clean devices are immediately transferred to a controlled environment to maintain a clean work area. A localized area uses a housing assembly having a HEPA filter coupled to an air inlet to filter the air entering the housing.
