Abstract: A preparation containing vitamin D3 (cholecalciferol), preferably an edible oil, in an amount of 200 IU to 20,000 IU, preferably 1000 IU to 5000 IU, and most preferably about 1500 IU to 3500 IU, with about 2000 IU particularly preferred. Such a preparation is useful in providing adequate nutrition, in the prevention and/or treatment of Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD), fall prevention, multiple sclerosis, chemoprevention of cancer, accelerated fracture healing, and metabolic syndrome. It acts as an anti-depressant, an anti-hypertensive for renovascular hypertension and high-renin hypertension; and is useful in hyperlipidemia treatment, as well as in the treatment of hypovitaminosis D in the renal failure population. The most important application to the present inventors is in treatment, prevention and also reversal of hypertension in renovascular and high-renin hypertension.

Abstract: The present invention provides an alternative solution to packaging for a plurality of unitary dosage items that is convenient for a user to carry with them. Preferably, the easily portable package contains a number of unitary dosage items that will remind a user of which dosages have been administered. The present invention is particularly useful for unitary dosages of items whose stability or shelf life may be enhanced by decrease of exposure to degradative influences, such as light, oxygen or physical destruction.

Abstract: Systems and methods of facilitating the sale of a component of a product are provided. In one embodiment of the present invention, a turnkey nutritional product is provided by an ingredient supplier to a manufacturer of a nutritional product that incorporates that ingredient. The ingredient supplier also includes with the product, substantially, all the marketing information and customized branding support necessary to market the product. The packaging and labeling of the product is compliant and sufficiently complete to allow the manufacturers or other downstream providers of the product to receive the product in a form ready to be sold to the consumer in turnkey fashion.
