  • Patent number: 9049478
Abstract: The disclosed system and method provide a facility for a dynamic media overlay. An end user can provide data for the dynamic media overlay that is activated upon selection to permit end users to share information while receiving or sending video data. The overlay may be in the form of a link, such as a hyperlink, that can be selected by an end user to take action indicated by information provided in the link. The link may be represented by audio or image information in the form of instructions or clickable “targets.” A content of information represented by the link can be dynamic, so that selection of the link can result in different actions, depending upon the informational content of the link. One or more flags may be provided to indicate that a new link or new informational content for a link is requested. The link may be provided in an overlay represented as a media layer provided in addition to the video media, or it may be embedded in the video media itself.

  • Patent number: 9023981
Abstract: The use of non aqueous dispersions NADs has enabled the development of fast setting sheet fed inks, for example. However either due to residual monomers or fractions of initiators, these NAD's have an objectionable odor. A chemical means of dramatically reducing the odor of the NAD's is thus presented. In exemplary embodiments of the present invention, such a chemical treatment can include an amine/alkali mixture in a coupling solvent. In exemplary embodiments of the present invention, the coupling solvent can be one or more of an alcohol, glycol or glycol ether, such as, for example, isopropyl alcohol. In exemplary embodiments of the present invention the amine can be an alkyl amine, such as, for example, diethyl amine, or various other amines, whether alone or in combination. In exemplary embodiments of the present invention, the alkali can be one or more of sodium hydroxide, potassium hydroxide and ammonium hydroxide, whether alone or in any combination thereof.

  • Patent number: 9016706
Abstract: A leg rest for a patient transport device, such as a wheeled chair, bed, stretcher, cot, or the like, is movable between a stowed position underneath a seat and a use position extending forwardly from the seat. The leg rest includes a latch and a handle for releasing the latch. The latch is adapted to automatically retain the leg rest in whichever of the use and stowed positions it currently is in. Pulling on the handle releases the latch and allows the leg rest to be moved between the use and stowed positions. The leg rest includes a pad that is positioned, when the leg rest is in the use position, to contact a patient's calf. The leg rest is configured to both pivot about a pivot axis and to have two different sections that translate with respect to each other.

  • Publication number: 20140374347
Abstract: Systems and methods for diffusing gas into a liquid are disclosed. In some cases, the methods include tangentially introducing a liquid into a cylindrical chamber having a cylindrical inner wall such that the liquid develops a spiral flow. In some cases, gas bubbles are orthogonally introduced into the liquid as the liquid flows through the chamber. In some cases, a flow of the liquid and the gas bubbles is controlled such that a ratio of a liquid flow rate to a gas bubble flow rate does not exceed values which convert non-bacteria enriched, clear water into froth. In such cases, a mixture of the liquid and the gas bubbles to exit the chamber near an output end. While the liquid can include clear water, in some instances, the liquid also includes bacteria (e.g., surfactant-producing or non-surfactant-producing bacteria) and/or bacterial nutrients that allow for improved bioremediation.

  • Publication number: 20140300516
Abstract: Position and orientation tracking systems and methods include a transmitting antenna transmitting a radio frequency (RF) signal. At least one receiving antenna acquires the RF signal. One of the at least one receiving antenna and the transmitting antenna is designated a reference antenna. A processing unit determines a phase difference between the RF signal received by each receiving antenna and the reference antenna. The processing unit computes a position of the transmitting antenna with respect to the at least one receiving antenna in response to the phase difference determined for each receiving antenna.

The door hinge includes a housing couplable to the body, a door lever pivotably mountable on the door for movement about a main shaft, a weight compensating spring and a closing spring. The weight compensating spring holds the door substantially in a position of equilibrium when the door is opened and the closing spring applies a self-closing force shortly before the door reaches the closed position and applies a closure maintaining force when the door reaches the closed position. Further included is a dampening device that counteracts one or both of a closing force and an opening force.
