  • Patent number: 11970731
Abstract: The invention relates to compounds, methods and compositions for improving on nucleic acid polymerization, including DNA replication by in vitro primer extension to generate, for example, polymers for nanopore-based single molecule sequencing of a DNA template. A nucleic acid polymerase reaction composition is provided with polymerization enhancement moieties, which allows enhanced DNA polymerase activity with nucleotide analogs, resulting in improved length of primer extension products for sequencing applications.

  • Publication number: 20240073652
Abstract: Systems and methods are provided for secure messaging with constrained user actions. An example method includes causing presentation of an interactive user interface, the interactive user interface enabling messaging with end users, each end user being associated with a respective phone number. Selection of a particular end user is received via the interaction user interface and the interactive user interface is updated to include a selectable option which triggers transmission of a standardized consent message to a particular phone number associated with the particular end user. User input is received which indicates receipt of externally provided affirmative consent. The interactive user interface is updated, with the updated interactive user interface including an input portion configured to receive arbitrary information for transmission to the particular phone number.

  • Publication number: 20210227845
Abstract: The present disclosure generally provides nutritional compositions that are useful for promoting beneficial bacteria in the gastrointestinal tract of a Cesarean-section (C-section)-delivered infant. The nutritional composition can include a prebiotic composition comprising human milk oligosaccharides (HMO), milk fat globule membrane (MFGM), and galacto-oligosaccharides (GOS) and/or polydextrose (PDX). The present disclosure also provides methods for promoting the growth of beneficial microbiota in the gastrointestinal tract of C-section-delivered infants comprising administering to a C-section-delivered infant the disclosed nutritional composition.

  • Publication number: 20200222436
Abstract: The present disclosure generally relates to pediatric nutritional compositions including galacto-oligosaccharide and human milk oligosaccharide or a precursor thereof. Further, the nutritional compositions may include GOS in combination with a first human milk oligosaccharide or precursor thereof and a second human milk oligosaccharide or precursor thereof. The disclosed nutritional compositions advantageously modify gut microbiome and improve select markers of immunity, brain structure, and gut function.

  • Patent number: 8992619
Abstract: An implantable device for treating disc degenerative disease and arthritis of the spine. The implant is sized for placement into an intravertebral disc space. The implant has a body with a predetermined, defined, repeating, three-dimensional pattern at least partially on at least one of its surfaces. The pattern is adapted to create a surface area of bone-contacting features that enhance in-growth and biological attachment to a biocompatible material. Also disclosed are process steps for making the implant.

  • Patent number: 6574108
Abstract: Disclosed is a printed circuit board (PCB) layout for increasing the ability of the PCB to transfer heat away from a component mounted thereon. The locations of signal vias in the PCB are selected so as to define continuous pathways in a PCB heat sink layer. This allows heat to be effectively conducted away from thermal vias connected to heat sink layer, thereby preventing PCB-mounted components from overheating.
