  • Patent number: 11970988
Abstract: Systems for efficiently starting an engine of a hybrid electric vehicle are provided. An example of a system comprises a first processor and a second processor. The second processor is configured to determine when to start an internal combustion engine, cause energy to be supplied from an energy storage device to a generator/motor to cause the generator/motor and crankshaft to rotate to at least a hold speed, transmit a first instruction to a first processor when determining that the internal combination engine should be started. The first processor does not supply fuel to at least one cylinder of the internal combustion engine in response to the first instruction. The second processor is configured to transmit a second instruction to the first processor after a variable period of time has elapse after the generator/motor or crankshaft has reached at least the hold speed.

  • Patent number: 6935004
Abstract: The invention relates to an improved propellor puller device for pulling a propellor hub from a marine engine. The propellor puller has a hub base member that has a central axis and a multiplicity of puller arms extending radially from the central axis. A threaded bolt threadably engages the hub base member so that rotation of the bolt is translated into axial displacement of the hub base member. Tension members composed of a series of chain links are slidably carried by a respective puller arm and attachable by a hook to a propellor blade. As tension in the tension members increases, the tension members will slide radially inwardly towards the central axis.

  • Patent number: 6202852
Abstract: A color identifier for use with a contained cosmetic product comprises a cosmetic grade foam swab for retaining a portion of the cosmetic product and a body for associating the swab with the cosmetic product. The body generally comprises a base for supporting the swab in a region adjacent the cosmetic product's container. Further, the body comprises a translucent enclosure, through which the swab is viewable, for maintaining the swab in place upon the base. A patch of adhesive is utilized for fixed application of the color identifier's body to the cosmetic product's container. In use, a portion of the cosmetic product is applied to the swab, which is then enclosed within the body. Because the body is provided with a translucent area, the portion of the cosmetic product applied to the swab is viewable notwithstanding its sealed enclosure within the body.
