Abstract: A muzzle loading firearm has an elongated barrel defining an elongated bore, with a muzzle end and a breech end. A breech cap is removably connected the breech end of the barrel to enclose a chamber at the rear of the bore. A portion of the breech cap may be external to the barrel, which may be externally threaded. The breech cap may be entirely clear of the breech bore, and the bore may have a consistent profile from end to end. The barrel threads may be standard, multistart or interrupted. The breech cap may overlay the face of the rear end of the barrel.

Abstract: A firearm magazine includes a housing defining a cavity. A resilient member is disposed in the cavity. A cartridge support member is movably supported on the resilient member and configured for moving downwardly into the cavity against increasing tension of the resilient member when the magazine is being loaded. The resilient member when under tension urges the cartridge support member and cartridges thereon to move upwardly during a feeding operation. An adapter converts a firearm magazine from multiple cartridge capacity to single cartridge capacity, and is configured to be removably coupled to the upper housing to cover the cartridge support member of the housing. The adapter includes an additional cartridge support member. The housing and the adapter cooperate to prevent the additional cartridge support member of the adapter from being moved downwardly into the cavity.

A spur is connected to the hammer body, and the spur is movable among a number of positions with respect to the hammer body. The spur may be attached in a standard position in which it extends within the medial plane of the hammer body for use without a scope, or offset positions in which it angles away from the medial plane to provide accessibility. The offset angle may be 45 degrees, and a mating feature may provide the several attachment positions, each secure against movement except by deliberate removal of a fastener.

Abstract: A muzzle-loading firearm with a lever-operated breechblock pivotally movable between a securely locked closed position to an open position to expose in plain view a removable breech plug having a cavity for receiving a primer, detonation of which causes ignition of a powder charge in the muzzle loader barrel. The breechblock and a lever are pivotally mounted on a rearward barrel lug which is attached to the barrel. The lever is operatively connected to the breechblock by a pivotally mounted link. The pivotal link in an angular position exerts a locking force on the closed breechblock. The lever manually moves the breechblock rearwardly and downwardly to an open position. A firing mechanism assembly, including a trigger, hammer, firing pin, and torsional springs for forwardly biasing the trigger and hammer, is a unitary member of the rotating breechblock structure.

Abstract: An ignition assembly for a muzzle loading firearm. The ignition assembly includes a conventional breech plug and a modified percussion nipple having a rearward end for receiving a percussion cap and a forward end which extends into the nipple bore of the breech plug. The forward end of the nipple has a reduced diameter so that there is an annular space between the outer surface at the forward end of nipple and the inner surface which defines the nipple bore of the breech plug. The nipple has a rearward fire channel which extends forwardly from its rearward opening and a forward fire channel which extends from the forward end of the rearward fire channel to its forward opening at the powder well of the breech plug. A pair of side fire channels extend from the rearward fire channel to the annular space between the forward end of the nipple and an annular inner wall which defines the nipple bore of the breech plug to enable this annular space to function as an axillary fire channel leading to the powder well.

Abstract: A firearm having a trigger which is pivoted to the frame, a hammer which is pivoted to the frame and biased in a forward position, a barrel which is pivotally mounted on the frame so that the breech end of the barrel can be moved between a closed position and an open position. A latch is operatively connected to the hammer and to the trigger for positioning the trigger in its cocked position when the hammer is in its cocked position and for releasably maintaining the hammer in its cocked position, and for releasing the hammer to its firing position upon manual actuation of the trigger. A first locking means is operatively connected to the barrel for preventing the barrel from moving to its open position when the hammer is in its cocked position. A second locking means is operatively connected to the barrel and to the hammer for preventing the hammer from moving to its cocked position when the barrel is in its open position.

Abstract: A power actuated tool having an explosive cartridge for applying connectors to power lines wherein the tool is armed as the power tool is loaded with a cartridge and engaged with a connector, and disarmed if the tool operator disengages the connector leaving the connection unfinished.

Abstract: A firearm having a frame, a barrel, a trigger which is pivotally connected to the frame, a hammer which is pivotally connected to the frame, and a hammer block which is integral with the trigger and extends upwardly from the trigger to prevent the hammer from reaching it forward firing position when the trigger is in its forward position, and allowing the hammer to reach its forward firing position when the trigger is in its rearward position. The trigger is biased to its forward position and the hammer is also biased to its forward firing position.
