The adhesive tape is perforated with a plurality of perforations. By applying the inventive adhesive tape over the outlet opening of the nozzle, the viscous material may be dispensed through the plurality of perforations to form a plurality of continuous filaments on the work surface, rather than a continuous ribbon bead, resulting in waste reduction and greater control over the amount dispensed. Such viscous materials may include construction adhesives, caulking materials, sealants, dual component reactive resins, and the like.
