  • Patent number: 4791557
Abstract: An information processing system includes a processor responsive to instructions for performing operations. The processor includes instruction queue for fetching and storing instructions in advance of execution and the system is responsive to certain of the instructions for causing execution of a corresponding sequence of instructions. A prefetch monitor includes circuitry for detecting instructions which may result in the execution of a corresponding sequence of instructions. The prefetch monitor further includes an instruction substitution circuit which is responsive to the detecting circuitry for inhibiting the reading of following instructions from a memory to the processor and is responsive to instruction fetching operation of the processor for reading null instructions to the processor.

  • Patent number: 4352031
Abstract: Improved precharge circuit for a dynamic circuit having N, spaced apart, outputs; where N is an integer greater than 2. The conduction path of a precharge transistor is connected between each pair of outputs, whereby (N-1) precharge transistors are connected end-to-end between the N output points. At least one additional precharge transistor is connected between one of the N outputs and a precharge potential point. A common conductor interconnects the control electrodes of all the precharge transistors for, selectively, turning them on concurrently and distributing the precharge potential to all of the N outputs. The end-to-end connection of the N-1 transistors enables the conduction paths of the N-1 transistors and the common conductor to be formed orthogonally to output line conductors connected to the N outputs, thereby enabling the manufacture of a dense and compact circuit.

  • Patent number: 4106086
Abstract: A voltage multiplying circuit comprising a plurality of booster capacitors and switch means for first connecting the capacitors in parallel with a voltage source to charge, then reconnecting the capacitors in series with the source and in parallel with a storage capacitor, to dump the cumulative voltage into the storage capacitor, is characterized in that control signals for actuating the switch means are phased to forestall the formation of a path for leakage current that undesirably discharges the capacitors and reduces the conversion efficiency of the voltage multiplying circuit.
