  • Publication number: 20230256780
Abstract: Methods, system, apparatuses, and computer program products for securely pairing a vehicle-mounted wireless sensor with a central device are disclosed. In a particular embodiment, securely pairing a vehicle-mounted wireless sensor with a central device in accordance with the present disclosure includes a vehicle sensor device pairing with a vehicle control system (VCS) using a pre-shared passkey. The pre-shared passkey is shared between the vehicle sensor device and the VCS via an out-of-band exchange. This embodiment also includes the vehicle sensor device transmitting an identifier for a resolvable private address (RPA) to the VCS. In addition, the vehicle sensor device communicates with the VCS using the RPA. In this example embodiment, the RPA is periodically regenerated by the vehicle sensor device.

  • Publication number: 20230241933
Abstract: Systems and methods for vehicle sensor learning using a low power wake-up receiver is disclosed. In a particular embodiment, a tire monitoring that comprises a low power receiver and a transceiver receives, at the low power receiver, a radio frequency (RF) activation signal from a remote device, transitions to a wake state in response to receiving the activation signal, and transmits, via the transceiver, an RF response signal including an identification code to the remote device. The remote device, such as a handheld activation tool or an activation station in an assembly line, transmits the activation signal, receives the response signal, and associates the identification code of tire monitoring sensor with a location on the vehicle. The identification code and location may be provided to the vehicle control system.

  • Patent number: 10718829
Abstract: Methods, apparatuses, and computer program products for optimizing utilization of a wireless position sensor are disclosed. In a particular embodiment, a controller of the wireless position sensor receives output from a magnetic-field-dependent sensor of the wireless position sensor. The magnetic-field-dependent sensor is configured to register the strength of a magnetic field of a magnet attached to a mechanical component. In this example, the registered strength corresponds to a position of the mechanical component along a directional path. According to this embodiment, the controller generates a comparison of the output to one or more predefined movement signatures and based on the comparison, determines whether to change an operating state of one or more components of the wireless position sensor.

  • Patent number: 9571588
Abstract: Systems and methods for user device registration are disclosed. In certain embodiments, at least a first edge device in a group of edge devices enters a mass-restart mode. The first edge device receives a request for registration from a user device and determines whether the user device is currently registered through the first edge device. The first edge device generates a notification associated with the user device if the user device is not currently registered through the first edge device. A second edge device in the group of edge devices receives the notification and determines whether the user device is currently registered through the second edge device based on the notification. Registration information about the user device is deleted from the second edge device if the user device is currently registered through the second edge device.

  • Patent number: 9455927
Abstract: Methods and apparatus for sharing bandwidth over a link in a packet-oriented telecommunications system or network that supports multiple types of traffic including, e.g., real time packet flows, opportunistic rate packet flows, control and signaling traffic, are described. In one exemplary embodiment the method includes the steps of receiving a bandwidth allocation request requesting allocation of a required amount of bandwidth for a new real time packet flow, allocating the requested bandwidth from bandwidth reserved for newly-allocated real time packet flows, updating the measure of the total amount of bandwidth allocated to real time packet flows to reflect the allocation of the bandwidth to the new real time packet flow, and generating new bandwidth allocations for existing opportunistic rate packet flows based on a measure of the total amount of bandwidth allocated to real time packet flows. Some embodiments of the invention include methods to enforce the dynamic bandwidth allocations.
