  • Publication number: 20070166225
Abstract: The present invention relates to methods for leaching products from source materials, especially combustion products from fuels including coal, bitumen, coke, oil, and other fuels that produce an ash such as flyash, bottom ash, etc. that have valuable components including minerals, precious and other metals, compounds, and the like using functional electrolytic water. The methods may produce other products, some of which are used in a process integrated into the pollution control equipment of a power plant.

  • Publication number: 20070154374
Abstract: Methods for scrubbing gas streams to remove acid gases including sulfur dioxide, mercury-containing substances, and/or nitrogen oxides from the gas stream. The gas stream is contacted with an ammonium-based sorbent effective for removing at least a portion of the acid gases. The partially cleaned gas stream is then contacted with an oxidant effective to remove at least a portion of the nitrogen oxides and/or mercury-containing substances after partially removing the acid gas substance while producing ammonia based fertilizers.
    Type: Application

    Publication date: July 5, 2007
    Applicant: EnviroSolv Energy LLC
    Inventors: Dennis Johnson, Mark Ehrnschwender
  • Publication number: 20070154373
Abstract: Methods for regenerating oxidant solutions used for removing pollutants, such as sulfur oxides, nitrogen oxides, mercury compounds, carbon monoxide, and elemental mercury (Hg), from gas streams.

  • Publication number: 20060236735
Abstract: A method of scrubbing hydrogen sulfide (H2S) from a gas stream employing a potassium-based sorbent to remove at least a portion of the H2S. This results in reaction products that are oxidized and converted into potassium-sulfur based fertilizers. The potassium based sorbent may be potassium hydroxide (KOH) made on site from potash. Hydrogen chloride (HCI) may be a byproduct when the sorbent is made from potash.
