Abstract: A mixer for mixing concrete components comprises a chassis and a mixing drum mounted for rotation with respect to the chassis and having an open end. The chassis includes a lifting structure extending beyond the open end of the drum and a support structure spanning the open end of the drum. The mixer is moveable between an inverted orientation in which the open end of the mixing drum faces generally downwards and a mixing orientation in which the open end of the mixing drum faces generally upwards. The lifting structure is arranged to engage with a container with the mixer in the inverted orientation, and to lift and invert the container upon movement of the mixer to the mixing orientation. The support structure is arranged to support the inverted container above the mixing drum when the mixer is in the mixing orientation. Also, a method for producing a concrete mix.

Abstract: A unit for compacting waste prior to disposal provides a waste compaction unit for fitting into a housing comprising a lid and an interior for collecting waste. The compaction unit comprises a plunger comprising bellows housed in the lid; a pneumatic locking mechanism housed in the lid; and a pump connected to the plunger via the locking mechanism wherein the pump is arranged in operation to activate the locking mechanism prior to inflating the bellows to extend the plunger axially towards the interior of the housing such that any waste collected therein is compacted.

Abstract: A collapsible bag (2) for the storage and transport of bulk materials comprises a bottom panel (13), a plurality of side panels (11, 12), and a pair of substantially parallel tubular guide members (4). The guide members (4) are secured on or adjacent to the tops of at least some of the side panels (11, 12). The tubular members (4) are resilient and connected together by rigid spacing means (22) at or adjacent to their ends. The invention also provides a method for manufacturing the bag and a device for modifying a conventional bag to make a bag in accordance with the invention.
