  • Publication number: 20240001602
Abstract: The present disclosure relates to a nonwoven extruded industrial fabric. A method of manufacture of the industrial fabric is crosshead extruding a polymeric matrix material with linear components. The linear components crosshead extruded with the polymeric matrix material may be continuous systems oriented in the machine direction. The polymeric resin matrix at least partially encompasses one or more of the linear components. The resin matrix may likewise be further reinforced by the inclusion of nanoparticles, nanomaterials, and/or chopped fibers. A faceside of the industrial belt may be smooth or may include a texture or pattern.

  • Publication number: 20230332353
Abstract: The invention relates to an industrial fabric, such as a texturing belt, used to create three-dimensional structures in a product produced thereon, e.g., in the papermaking field, such as for fiber products, and in nonwoven processes. The invention concerns a texturing belt that can impart an endless variety of complex patterns utilizing discretization, such as, wherein individual subunits that comprise a pattern element are not connected, and therefore do not act as a stressed member of the texturing belt.

  • Publication number: 20230074867
Abstract: The instant invention relates to an industrial fabric for producing a textured product, wherein the industrial fabric has a first layer, such as a woven base fabric, and a second layer, such as a film, that extends over at least a portion of a top surface of the first layer. The second layer has macro voids and micro voids. In certain embodiments, the macro voids impart a texture in a fiber product produced on the industrial fabric, whereas the micro voids limit or prevent penetration of the fibers of the product into the micro voids while at the same time increasing permeability of the industrial fabric.

  • Patent number: 7901752
Abstract: A belt designed for lead acid battery plate pasting that is rendered dimensionally stable and incompressible and is also rendered hydrophobic to allow water handling without absorption and subsequent contamination of lead oxide into the structure.

  • Patent number: 7862879
Abstract: A fabric having one or more guides attached to a wear surface of the fabric so to encapsulate fifty percent or more of the fabric caliper. Advantageously, the encapsulation of the fabric by the guide, and not the chemical affinity of the materials, is the mechanism that attaches the guide and fabric. Consequently, the bond strength is equal to the tear strength of either the fabric or guide material alone.

  • Patent number: 7578317
Abstract: In combination with a high-speed spun-bond apparatus, rather than using a circulating sieve belt for collecting the stretched filaments and forming the web, a fabric having a 4-shed double layer with support shute weave design is used. This fabric is commonly referred to as a 4B weave and 4B weave with stuffer in center. In general, the fabric has a permeability ranging from 400 to 800 cfm with a woven or pin seam where the seam permeability and caliper varies only slightly with respect to the rest of the fabric.

  • Patent number: 7452581
Abstract: The invention relates to an industrial fabric having means for seaming a fabric to form an endless loop and a plurality of non-continuous wear beads formed on the fabric proximally to a seam formed in the fabric which prevent wear to the components of the seam.

  • Publication number: 20080248233
Abstract: Briefly the invention relates to a tobacco conveyer belt, for example a suction tape with improved mechanical properties. More specifically, the present invention is directed to an endless suction tape that is formed from a continuous polymeric film containing a polymer chosen to maximize the wear resistance and minimize toxicity of any polymer contaminating the tobacco. The tape is permeable and perforated according to a desired distribution. The suction tape can be formed with a uniform texture, by embossing mechanically, ultrasonically, or through a laser removal technique. Either or both surfaces of the tape can be smooth or textured.

  • Patent number: 7318796
Abstract: A two-layer drum cover and a method of producing the same are provided. The two-layer drum cover includes a backing wire constructed of a relatively high grade metal alloy in the warp direction and alternating relatively low grade metal alloys in the shute direction. The two-layer drum cover also includes a face wire constructed of a relatively high grade metal alloy in the warp direction and alternating relatively low grade metal alloys in the shute direction. All the metal alloys used in the face wire have a higher grade than the metal alloys used in the backing wire.

  • Publication number: 20040033856
Abstract: An on-machine-seamable industrial belt comprising a coated spiral base with a pin seam that offers easy installation, durability, high surface friction, and strength. The belt construction includes a helical spiral base produced from primarily polyester monofilament or blends thereof. The coating material is a liquid silicone rubber elastomer of Shore A durometer 15-50. The coating penetration encapsulates at least the top spiral filament and extends beyond the top surface of the base. The seam strength is substantially equal to that of the fabric body.
