  • Patent number: 8667533
Abstract: Streaming content customization techniques are described. In an implementation, metadata, that is associated with an element, is synchronized with a stream of content that includes the element. The element is configured to accept an input to access related content that provides context for a scene that includes the element. After the related content is output, playback of the stream of content is resumed from the point at which the input was accepted to access the related content.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: April 22, 2010
Date of Patent: March 4, 2014
    Assignee: Microsoft Corporation
Inventors: Darren A. Apfel, Brian C. McDowell, Paolo V. Malabuyo, Mark J. Weinberg

  • Patent number: 7698127
Abstract: In a computer, a user interface allows users to input requests to various applications or software modules executing on the computer. During the input process, the invention presents to the user a grammar-based automatic completion of the user input so far, and/or a grammar-based suggestion list of one or more possible options for completing the user input.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: October 1, 2004
Date of Patent: April 13, 2010
    Assignee: Microsoft Corporation
Inventors: Tandy Woodson Trower, II, Mark J. Weinberg
  • Patent number: 7516495
Abstract: Upon authentication via a required multi-function hardware component, coupled to a computer system with one or more computer-readable media, having a software product embodied thereon, one implementation, described herein, conditionally blocks or grants access to the software functionality of that software product on that computer system.

  • Patent number: 7153471
Abstract: A method of decontaminating a structure contaminated by pathogenic microorganisms such as bacillus anthracis and its spores, B. subtilis var niger and its spores, and B. stearothermophilus and its spores. The steps include sealing a contaminated structure sufficiently to enable retention of a gas, introducing methyl bromide gas into sealed contaminated structure to a concentration of methyl bromide in an amount sufficient to deactivate said pathogenic microorganisms and to disable germination of pathogenic bacteria spores, and maintaining said sealed contaminated structure with said concentration of methyl bromide at a sufficient temperature for a sufficient period of time, and deactivating said pathogenic microorganisms and disabling germination of said pathogenic bacteria spores associated with said contaminated structure. The method is performed approximately in the range of 20° C. to 40° C., and the concentration of methyl bromide is about 80 mg/l to 303 mg/l during the decontamination.
    Type: Grant
