Abstract: Techniques and mechanisms described herein facilitate the performance of percent-consumed weighted content recommendation. According to various embodiments, input data for performing media content recommendation analysis may be identified. The input data may describe the presentation of a plurality of media content items in association with a plurality of content management accounts. The input data may comprise a plurality of data points. Each of the data points may identify a respective portion of a respective one of the media content items presented in association with a respective one of the content management accounts. For each or selected ones of the data points, a respective weighting factor may be applied based on the respective portion of the respective media content item presented in association with the respective content management account. The weighted input data may be numerically modeled to produce a plurality of media content recommendations.

  • Patent number: 7882046
Abstract: An ad system is described for providing ad selections in response to an ad presentation opportunity. The ad system can use multiple content providers to generate multiple sets of ad candidates. The content providers can apply different ad selection paradigms in generating their sets of ad candidates. The paradigms may act on different aspects of a context pertaining to the ad presentation opportunity. A chooser module and filtering module can cull the set of ad selections from among the plural sets of ad candidates. At least one content provider uses machine learning functionality in generating ad candidates, such as a Naïve Bayesian approach, an affiliate similarity approach, etc. Various content providers also find application in a stand-alone mode.

  • Patent number: 6347299
Abstract: The present invention provides speech and audio user-computer interface mechanisms for accessing and editing information in electronic records. A mechanism is provided by which the user can direct inputs to any of a variety of fields without following a predetermined order of input. This allows the user to be proactive in making entries rather than simply reacting to requirements set by computer-generated prompts. Audio is provided as feedback to the user, not as a fixed path prompt for the user. This feedback can be in the form of non-verbal auditory signals or synthesized speech. The invention uses audio to inform the user of whether or not the system understood the spoken words or phrases as valid inputs to the electronic record, what the system recognized as the input, and to identify the contents of various fields in the electronic record.

  • Patent number: 6064401
Abstract: The present invention provides a user interface mechanism for adjusting the view of two-dimensional graphical plots so users can make compromises between the amount of detail that is presented on an electronic display and the range of data that can be within immediate view. It also provides a mechanism for controlling the subset of data that will be within view on an electronic display when the entire data plot exceeds the dimensions of the display. Finally, it provides a mechanism whereby a sliding lens may be selectively positioned over various portions of a graph, allowing the viewing of the graph at a selectable magnification.

  • Patent number: 4930947
Abstract: A tool holder is disclosed having a body adapted to be rotatably driven about an axis. The body includes an axial bore at one end which is adapted to receive the cylindrical shank of a cutting tool. A radial bore in the body receives a threaded fastener which, upon tightening, abuts against the cutting tool shank to secure the shank to the tool holder body. A pair of alignment members are adjustably secured to the body and each alignment member has an alignment surface which is substantially tangent to the axial bore whereas each alignment member is shaped so that the radial distance between the alignment surface on the alignment member and the axis of the tool holder varies in dependence upon the position of the alignment member. Adjustment of the alignment members and fastener centers the cutting tool to the tool holder.

  • Patent number: 4230427
Abstract: A bottom face mill having an elongated body that has a pair of clamping jaws formed on the front end thereof. The clamping jaws are spaced apart by a V-shaped notch which terminates at its inner end at the front end of a transverse, longitudinally extended slot. A triangular cutting tool is held in the V-shaped notch by a pair of retaining pins and a clamping screw which forces the clamping jaws into a releasable clamping engagement with the triangular cutting tool.
