  • Publication number: 20230076120
Abstract: Methods, apparatuses, and systems are disclosed for reducing latency during IRAT re-selection in the presence of race conditions. When a UE initiates an IRAT re-selection procedure, and concurrently initiates a call setup procedure, a race condition may result, in which the UE's NAS layer prioritizes the call setup procedure, while the RRC layer prioritizes the IRAT re-selection procedure. This may result in failure of the call setup procedure, which may lead to a user needing to re-initiate the call, resulting in poor user experience and significant latency. To prevent this, the UE may cache a message and/or other information relevant to the call setup procedure, until the IRAT re-selection procedure is complete. The UE may then proceed to complete the call setup procedure. The message may be cached, e.g., at the NAS layer or the RRC layer of the cellular modem, or by an application processor.

  • Patent number: 11123554
Abstract: A method and system for delivering a molecule to a specific area of a tissue by controlling temperature and impedance is presented. The method is generally comprised of applying heat to a biological structure, such as cells or tissues, to heat the biological structure to a preset temperature after which at least one electroporation pulse is administered to the biological structure. Impedance is measured as a feedback control mechanism after each pulse and pulse parameters are adjusted accordingly until desired impedance is reached. The system generally comprises an electroporation system capable of generating at least one pulse, measuring impedance and measuring temperature. The method may be used to deliver a molecule such as a vaccine or therapeutic to a biological structure, such as for prevention or treatment of SARS-CoV-2 infection.

  • Patent number: 9480371
Abstract: A self-securing roll holder for easily exchanging rolls of sheet material. The holder comprises a mounting bracket, an mounting stanchion, a support, and a cap. The cap is pivotally connected to the support with a resilient retaining assembly. The cap has dimensions that allow the cap to act as a retainer in one position and, when moved to a second position, allow rolls of sheet material to be mounted and dismounted from the support. The retaining assembly further comprises a piston, a piston guide, a spring, and a pivot pin all of which are located inside the support. The cap is pivotally connected to the retaining assembly thereby maintaining forcible contact with the support and retaining rolls of sheet material on the support in one position until moved to a second position to exchange rolls.

  • Patent number: 8456160
Abstract: The gauss meter devices of the present invention are small, low power 3 axis field monitor board which detects DC to slow varying magnetic fields. The unit is designed to be embedded into a system which may be sensitive to magnetic fields and needs to continuously measure the magnitude of the field around it. The unit continuously monitors and logs magnetic fields on X, Y and Z axes and it also logs the vector summation of the X, Y and Z axes. The unit may be controlled and queried by wired serial communication means or by means of an integrated radio frequency (RF) transceiver. The RF transceiver may utilize a proprietary communication protocol or a standard wireless communication protocol such as ZigBee, Bluetooth or any of the IEEE communications standards. The many configuration settings of the device may be changed by the user by issuing commands to the device from an established command set.
