  • Publication number: 20170195847
Abstract: A mobile wireless network and a method of operation provide a hierarchical selection from among various location methods in populating a user location database. A digital signature technique is used to determine a location of a mobile wireless communications device. The location is compared with received signal-strength indication (RSSI) measurements to determine if the location provided by the digital signature technique is reasonable, and if so, the digital signal measurement location result is stored in the database. Otherwise, the user location database controller computes the location in conformity with the RSSI measurements. Triangulation measurements in combination with the RSSI measurements may be used to compute a prospective location that is used if the digital signature-determined location is unreasonable and also tested for validity by comparison to the RSSI measurements. The prospective location can also be tested for reasonableness by comparing the RSSI measurements.

  • Patent number: 9642024
Abstract: A mobile device, wireless network and their method of operation provide fault handling in response to detection of a communications fault between a connected mobile device and the communications network. The communications network tracks location of mobile devices and stores performance data of connections between the mobile devices and the network. The performance data is referenced to expected performance data to determine whether a fault exists and a corrective action is suggested when the fault exists.

  • Patent number: 9549388
Abstract: A mobile device, wireless network and their method of operation provide both on-line (connected) navigation operation, as well as off-line navigation from a local database within the mobile device. Routing according to the navigation system can be controlled by traffic congestion measurements made by the wireless network that allow the navigation system to select the optimum route based on expected trip duration.

  • Patent number: 9510320
Abstract: For a wireless network, a tuning system in which mobile phones using the network are routinely located. With the location of the mobile phones identified, load adjustments for the system are easily accomplished so that the wireless network is not subject to an overload situation. Ideally the location of the mobile phones is accomplished whether the mobile phones are transmitting voice data or not.

  • Publication number: 20160097481
Abstract: A repair kit and associated method for repairing an automotive coolant pipe for fluid-conducting within an engine block of an engine includes at least a repair stent, sealant and instructions for performing the method. The repair stent may be a whole tube, or a hollow semi-cylinder defining a gap. The method includes draining coolant from the engine, removing the water pump from the engine without removing the timing chain cover of the engine, inserting the repair stent including a sealant through the coolant passage, wherein the coolant passage extends through the timing chain cover into the engine, re-assembling the water pump to the engine and adding coolant to the engine.

  • Publication number: 20150167535
Abstract: A method and apparatus of repairing an automotive coolant pipe for fluid-conducting within an engine block of an engine, comprising a repair insert tube coated with a sealant, having a proximal proportion configuration for at least partially sealing an internal sealing ring or gasket, whereby the insertion of the repair insert tube coated with sealant will at least partially seal a leaking sealing ring or gasket within the engine block of the effected automobile.

  • Publication number: 20030134648
Abstract: A cellular phone system which uses multiple cellular phones. A computer tracks the actual location of each of the cellular phones by routinely identifying a location of each of them. Ideally, this locating is done whether the cellular phone is in an active or a passive state. The location information is routinely stored in a memory and is then selectively communicated a remote computer.
